Good morning ZAM! - 6/30/09 Follow

Finally rested after Fan Faire in Vegas. Yesterday was spent decompressing after a busy weekend of panels, gambling & travel.

Thursday: Left around 7am for the airport in Hartford, CT. Plenty of time for a beer after we got through security. A beer at 9am in an airport while traveling is completely normal by the way. Plane left on time. However, my flight in DC was delayed 5 hours because United "ran out of planes". :P Finally boarded at 4pm and got to Vegas around 6:30pm PST. Rushed to Ballys, threw my bags and golf clubs at the bell hop and raced off to Paris to join the ZAM team for dinner. Cal and I tracked each other down with a complicated triangulation system involving our cell phones and several shouts "Where are you?!".

After dinner I went up to the room to change and clean up a little. Back down to the convention area to catch some of the late night gaming session. Met up with Winter, Jethal, Elquinjena, Leonai, Ashlanne, Kiara, Sutures, Hoopy. I checked the message board and immediately found no less than 3 notes written something to the tune of "SpyderBite.. where are you?!". XD

Friday: Up at 5:00am and downstairs at 6am to meet Sutures for our round of golf. We grabbed a bite to eat first and off to the Las Vegas Golf Club we went. My very first swing set the rhythm for the rest of my game. Top, Chop, Chunk & Whiff. I didn't hit a solid shot off the tee until the 18th hole. By then it was too late and we headed back to the clubhouse. Stacking up 123 swings.. 50% of them in the fairway. Pathetic. I shot a 111 about a month ago, my first time on the course in almost 4 years. But, I had chalked that up as just being a little rusty. Nope. I had simply lost my game completely.

Got back around 1pm and headed down to the Adventure's Guild panel, EQ2 General panel & finally the Producer's Address. Instead of standing in line for drinks after the address, we headed out to the casino and played some video poker before retiring for the night.

Saturday: Fell to my knees when I got out of bed. I didn't realize how soar my body was until it was too late. I crawled in to the tub and soaked for a bit then got ready for more panels. First up was the ZAM panel of course! We had a pretty good crowd and the attendees seemed to enjoy the information Allakhazam, Calthine, Illia & Drakknor shared including the origin of ZAM/Allakhazam and questions about new sites.

Vendolyn and my friend Amanda and her husband (friends from UO) found me before I left the ZAM panel. Was great surprise to see all of them. :)

Dropped in on a few other panels during the day, including The Agency. VERY cool game btw! They really put some thought in to this one!

Dropped by the Gaming area and chatted with Gnobrin, Brasse, Tamat, Bludwyg, Zanadi, Rijacki, Trueflight & Grimwell.

Banquet was fun. We sat with a friend of mine from UO who now plays EQ2. It was quite the coincidence cause we played UO for almost 10 years but had no idea that either of us was going to Fan Faire until the night before. We got stuck in the back of the room in a race to find a table so no pictures. :(

Sunday: Airport was busy.. as expected. Everyone leaves on Sunday it seems. We didn't get home until around 11pm EST. And we were exhausted! 4 beers before bed.. then *thud*.

Monday: Still soar from golf on Friday. Basically just sat in the chair at my computer all day and got caught up on Comments on the ZAM site. We went to the grocery store then came home and plopped down in front of EQ2 for the rest of the night. Nothing productive.. worked on tradeskills on my new Swashy/Jeweler.

Today: Got up early, and felt refreshed! So, I went to the golf course and hit 3 buckets of balls. Didn't swing as badly as Friday, but its very clear that I am going to spend this season relearning my game.

So, how was everyone else's weekend? Sorry if I missed anyone at Fan Faire. It was a blur of faces.

One of these years I just have to cross the ocean and go there too, although the price and plane trip are enough to keep me here though.

I like this one better - Brasse got it late Saturday. I was pooped and had completely lost my voice, but it includes a REALLY big drink.
