Any way to get the old ZAM (Allakhazam) interface back?Follow

#1 Jun 03 2009 at 6:48 AM Rating: Decent
I respect everyone's enjoyment of the new ZAM interface for the eq2 site and I very higly respect all the work and effort that has gone into it. But for me it doesn't work.

I am looking for a a way to revert back to the old interface.

Is there any way to return to this? And if so how do I get there?

No, sorry. The old sea foam green skin has gone to the Great Internets in the Sky.

Actually, I have to agree with Sadvene, that old interface was quite enjoyable.

Still, I'm already used to this new UI.

Well, what specific features of the old site are you particularly missing? The old site skin just won't work with the new setup, but I'm betting it's not the green you're missing.

Yah.. I'm not sure what is missing either? I normally searched for everything.. quest titles, etc. So that still works as it always did. All the wiki is still available. I'd be interested in knowing what exactly people are finding difficult to adapt to with the new layout.

Nobody likes change. That's human nature. However.. give the new interface a chance.. I mean a real chance. And, I think you'll find it to be very, very efficient once you get the hang of it. :)

Oh no, I like those changes, it's actually that green I am missing myself. I know it sounds insane and I'm already quite used to the new version, but the first day I really regretted the colour change myself.

Back at last SOE Fan Faire one of the ideas presented for the new ZAM umbrella of sites was customizable skins.

Now, so far we've got the main ZAM news site, the ZAM EQ2 site, and the ZAM Free Realms site. It's gonna take a while. But when we get that far, I will be sure to submit a request for a "Classic EQ2 Allakhazam" Sea Foam Green skin :)

I still come to the forums using the EQ1 skin. I'm a creature of habit.

Well I'm glad you like the layout. I thought this was going to be another one of those conversations I've had which ended in "Well.. to be honest.. its TOO convenient". O.o

As for you being insane.. nah.. color blind perhaps.. but not insane. ;)

LOL

On the Allakhazam sites, page that do not involve the database like forums and straight wiki can use any site skin we have, like

* http://eq2.zam.com/forum.html?forum=19
* http://wow.zam.com/forum.html?forum=19
* http://eqoa.zam.com/forum.html?forum=19

I'll inquire if the "Classic EQ2" ZAM skin (shudder, beh!) can be made available.

It's planned to make the old minty green EQ2 skin available as an alternate choice. Won't happen right away, but I'll come back to it as soon as I have time. :)

Nah, pea soup is darker. This is definitely sea foam. http://www.colourlovers.com/color/71EEB8/sea_foam_green
