Calling all EQ2 Players, we want your logs! That's right, our phenomenal developers here at Allakhazam have come up with a really snifty log parser that is helping automate data acquisition here at EQ2 Allakhazam.

Simply take a look at the instructions, here: EQ2 Log Parser Instructions

Then download this extremely small exe file: EQ2 Log Parser

Thank you for your contribution to the best darn EQ2 database around! Please use this thread for feedback on the parser.

Is there a list anywhere of new things added to your database after a parse?

They'll show up on the Updates announcement on the front page every day.

How about if someone uploads a new item, it attributes who uploaded it (Toon name and server from the name of the log file) to that person on the generated page. ^_^

Can't get this to work.

Have the proper path for the executable but after it's set the Read Logs button is clickable but does nothing. Subsequent retries and reboots prove futile in my efforts.

Silly question, but one never knows... are there logs in that directory to parse?

Forgive my Newbliness, but what exactly is this uploading? Is it loot drops only or does it include spells, recipes, quest info, etc?

I'm not privy to all the supreme coolness our devs come up with, but I know for certain it's doing drops, loc's, item codes, and I think it's getting some mob info too. Oh, there's some quest/item relationship info that shows when you have all your log options on, I think they're working with that too.

Basically, any db info they can suck out of it.

same here...
It's always looking for an EQ2.exe which does not exist. So I choose EverQuest2.exe or PlaytheFae.exe it does show the path changed message, but hitting the Read Logs Button does not cause an action.
My logs directory exists, C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\logs\Valor\eq2log_CharName.txt and as you could see the file too.

thanks for any assistance. Ah, and it's Vista, I have had to give full Adminrights to Lucy...

Grabbed it, and ran it. how often is it updated, and will results show up on main page or in another thread? Also, will it show who supplied what to the database?

I do believe the devs update from parser data every day. You''l see the results in our regular Update post on the front page, along with any work we CM's have done. You'll also see the results on mob pages - for example, look at this Nerius Crab.

It'll parse your logs when you tell it to, it's not a TSR.

Well I installed Lucy2 and it was loading my files fine and .. I got an error. Don't know if it is just IE doing it but I'll lis t it here.

Event Type: clr20r3
P1: lucy2.exe
P2: 1.0.2909.30622
P3: 4769948c
P4: system.web.services
P5: 2.0.0.0
P6: 4333af0f
P7: b3
P8: 37
P9: system.invalidoperationexception

And then it closes Lucy2
I followed your directions, didn't change anything of what files are called.

Just a wild guess, but do you have version 2.0 or higher of the .NET framework installed?

Call me blind but I seem to have overlooked this post the last week, I'll download and use the parser next I play!

Excellent idea btw, always handy.

Installed it but it refused to work. Untill I remembered that for most programs I have to right click the icon and select the "start as administrator" option for it to work properly! Gotta get used to Vista.

Edit: ne'er mind.. mine isn't working as pictured in the screen shot which does indeed show a status of the progress. hrmmm.. *toys with it some more*

The reason i asked about it, I've submitted a few dozen items from veeshan's peak that never showed up, was just curious how often things were updated. I run it every sunday night when I can, when we finish our raids for the week.

edit: actually, i've added items from every tier of ROK raiding, and none of them showed up. not too sure what good the parser is, if no one's updating it. Man I miss ogaming :(

Is that link anywhere on the front page or we have to come to this thread and use your link each time to see the contributors and where they stand?
(OMG - Everything is a race!!!!!)

I am using Lucy2 now, I want to help do what I can for Allakhazams but I`m a small contributor right now ;)
