Thinking of EQ2Follow

#1 Oct 21 2005 at 6:17 PM Rating: Decent
Hey guys never played EQ2 before but was a big fan of eq1. Played for for years and loved every minute of it up until the end when i decided to give it up for FPS competitively. My question is is this game similiar to eq1 how is it different is it first person or 3rd? The drinking and eating are still the same? Playing a wizard I was always low mana and was wondering am i still always on the drink. What also is this other stuff i see. We have a clvl and then another like tradeskill level we have to do? Any help would be great thanks.

Ripel,

If you were into EQ1, you might want to consider returning to it, I've heard that they keep the chars on the cancelled accounts.

The fighting is similar to EQ1, but a lot better graphically. It is also a lot more fast paced, along the lines of other recent MMOs (City of Heroes, World of Warcraft). The fast pace and short breaks are both blessing and a curse. They are good because fighting has a nice arcade feel. They are bad because players don't get to know each other while sitting down to med.

The mana is no longer a problem. As long as you have a good drink in your inventory, it regenerates pretty fast. Also, mana regens just as fast when you stand, so if you're oom, you can choose to melee instead of sitting down to med.

Thanks for your info. I'm downloading the demo now to eq2 and gonna see whats up with it. The only reason I dont want to go back to eq1 is that I would feel that I'm to far behind. Not playing the game for like a year and a half could put me pretty far back with back flagging and all that. I also want to try a new game. WoW is extremly boring to me now and I am hoping eq2 will hit the spot. Thanks
