Necro Solo...good or great ? Please helpFollow

#1 Oct 07 2005 at 11:20 AM Rating: Decent
Howdy everyone. I soloed a Necro to lvl 65 in EQ1. Could I do the samething in EQ2? I loved my Necro, but it became such a grind. I heard EQ2 is great for those who have little spare time to play. I heard the Necro has been nerfed in EQ2. I would like to start an Iksar Necro. Any assistance would be great. Thanx

Everyone can effectively solo, and there is a plentiful supply of solo mobs in all zones. In fact, you would be ammazed at how many critters are walking around. I can't seem to take 3 steps without tripping over a gnoll or goblin. That makes it easy to log on, whomp a few mobs or knock out a few quest steps, and log off. Additionally, any race can be any class, so you can try something different...maybe a Wood-elf necro? Or an Iskar Paladin? :)

Keep in mind that if you just fight solo mobs, you will only get solo-mob loot drops. By joining a group and fighting harder group mobs, the loot drops will be better.

The new combat revamp has made significant changes to what people can fight. Simply put, it was scaled up a notch. So instead of normally being able to fight /con white mobs, you now can normally fight /con blue mobs.

Just so you know, the health/mana regen rate in EQ2 is lightning fast, unlike EQ1. You will be back up to full power in a matter of a few minutes, faster if you have good food and drink on. Short downtime combined with plentiful mobs equals some speedy leveling, less of a grind.

Have fun and good luck!

Very true tons of solo stuff around, but alot of the quests still have heroic mobs in them :P

As far at the be anything you want thats true, but if you want to be evil/good type in good/evil role then there is that little betrayl quest one has to do. Which if you have no friends or guildmates will be real tuff. Not to many pickup groups for that one. But yes its your choice to be what you want to be.

Some class's true, my 50 SK can barely take on blues, my 39 Warlock yellows, oranges and some reds are np for him. So even after the class nurf/balance patch there are still some class's that can solo better then others.

Its some where in the area of 150 to 200% faster for health and power regen. As for grinding well killing for just exp is a grind no matter how fast it go's. I say just have fun do the quests, group with people and join a guild if you really want to see all the kool places. Above all just have fun.

This is one of the ironic things about EQ2 but most of the adventuring packs (Splitpaw) is a great place to solo because it adjusts to your level so its always alot of xp and great fun.

Also very true.. But once you run out of Vitality... heh xp slows down ALOT unless your really soloing and focused. Vitality is a great thing to have if your grouped but most of the time when your grouped and u dont have vitality its a waste.
