How effective are the pets?Follow

Umm hate to put it this way, but from what I've seen the summoner pets at least suck hairy b***sack compared to EQ1 pets. They may get better once you go into your sub-class from summoner. My 13 summoner was basically a cloth wearing EQ1 SK with a rusty weapon to be honest.. though he did have better nukes than a SK, lol. The nukes were really the only way to survive with my summoner. Nuke the bejeezus outta it and hope it goes down quick cuz your pet ain't gonna help much.

Not to mention Necros get Dots. I think they get FD and a none combat rez. They get to summon Warlock pets,assassin pets and figter pets. Would guess the mage type will get 3 or 4 different types as well.

Heh, they musta worked on the summoner class pets since beta. My earlier post was without a doubt true in beta. I had an Adept1 pet and it hit for max damage equal to my level. I was 13 so it hit for 13! Yay! Plus it healed unbelievably slow, and we had no heals for our pets and our buff spell for the pets didn't work. I got sick of it and quit him after maybe 16 hours of playing him.

Grats to any pet class out there who has something worth while!
