well i pre-ordered eq2 and im having problems creating my character, i was wondering if anyone eles was having this problem, when i go to select the race i would like to be there is no picture of the avatar it is just a blank black screen.

More than likely an issue with your video card. Make sure you meet the requirements and also make sure your video card drivers are up to date. I know exactly what you are talking about, I had the same problem. After I built my new PC for EQ2 it worked fine.

hmm maybe i should go DL the latest driver i currently have the GeForce FX 5600 ultra 128mb AGP that should be able to run eq2 no?

How can you create character? It aint live yet

they give u a cd where u can create your character and save it before launch date
You need to have the CD in the drive otherwise you get the black screen. Took me a couple of times screaming at the monitor before I figured this out.
Don't ask me WHY it is necessary especially after installing to hard drive but it worked for me this way )).
After a cup of tea and watching the character screen come up after inserting the CD all was well.
Hope this works for you. Don't muck with your hardware yet!!!
