Does anyone know how many people are gonna be on the servers in EQII? I think EQI servers were built for around 3000 people to be online at one time.

Seems like there were around 25000 people per server for beta? Somewhere around there. There will be like 20 servers for release I believe as well.

Dunno about size, I just hope I don't pull a stupid move and get stuck on a french server like I did on 1.

I know it runs better than EQ did. Dev pulled over 450 people into a zone other night before it crashed. I think we use to crash at about 200 on EQ. Wondering how the server size will work with the multiple zones set up. They only allow so many people in a zone then the make a mirror zone and start putting new people in it. Ive seen as many as 9 of the same zones listed on one server.

From my experance with EQ2 Beta the zones themselves are actually separate servers (I can be wrong here)and the adverage population for each zone before it instances again is usually around 30 to 40 people. Even the larger zones like Antonica and Commonlands that can hold over 400 people will instance once it is over populated. Towards end of beta there where no problems with server latency. I did take some severe hits Frame per second wise on the last hour of beta. But suspect that was my graphic card due to there being over a couple hundred people congregating at the same spot. We had over one hundred hanging around the claymoore for snap shots and just idle chit chat waiting for them to pull the plug on the server. Over all EQ2 is a great game and I think many will enjoy it.
