Classes / BetrayerFollow

I wasn't a lucky sob to get into beta, so got curious when I saw the classes & what side they're designed for.

I believe I read that you can't do the betrayer quest past 17. This is before your subclasses are more finalized. Now due to this, would this mean if I was an evil summoner, wanting to go to Qeynos, that if I did the quest, I'd now be unable to become a necro?

I saw thanks to this http://ebonlore.org/race-class-spellsV1.0.xls that a warlock can be trained in both cities, yet some were definately specific, like the coercer / illusionist or necro / conjurer etc..

Is this correct??

some classses are alignment specific, but your race only dictates your initial alignment, so you can do the betrayer quest anytime before 20, so you could be a troll paladin if you wanted to honestly. and if you were evil summoner and bretrayed and went to qeynos, you could only be a conjurer. hope that answers yur questions.

Yep, unfortunately it does. I was hoping for RP purposes to play something really evil & then have some sorta enlightenment or unknown dietish intervention & change me ways.

I was thinking Necro or Shadowknight, a horde of evil, slaying little children & eating babies, becoming a guardian of Qeynos & protector of all.

Oh well, I'll have to be more creative & come up with something else then, lol.

Thanks!

It does make some sense though. You could be a high Elf, but feel the corrupting pull of the dark arts and turn evil. Thus a normally 'good' race could become evil. But you can't be a 'good' necromancer. A necro is an agent of death. They are inherently evil. Hence some classes are tied to some alignments, but no race is specifically bound to either side, although many have a certain pre-desposition towards good or evil.

Yes, Warlock is a neutral class. (in fact it's my initial choice)

When EQ2 goes live, the betrayal quest will be set for levels 15 to 17. Once you accept the quest your level will be caped at level 17. You can start your class quest at level 18 but you are caped at level 19 till you finish, which shouldn't be a problem unless your very very unlucky. I know that in beta you could start the betrayal quest at lvl 10, but that was just for testing as stated by a dev.
