My idea will be detailed in a few moments (middle of text). Before we get to that, i need to write a few things. Right now, this game is going in the right direction, with all the changes and the upcoming changes in 2.0.
But, there is one huge piece missing. The journey to reach 50 is boring. As of now, what you do is once you reach 50, you level all the other DoW/M classes with PLing someone and you get PLed in return. It is so fast, and easy, that you can actually gimp your way up.
SE needs to make it IMPOSSIBLE for players to gain XP from PL. That is nothing new. It has been said and resaid, some agree, some don't. I think the PvE will be a lot more interesting if we need to merit our leveling. You will feel acheivement a lot more. Leveling with a group is part of the fun. Why we play FF14 ? Because we don't like to PvP. If we do like PvP, we play Aion for instance.
So, we like PvE, it means we like /party and play a role in that party.
Here is my idea : everytime you get XP from any class you are using to get these XP, these XP points gained will not go in this class right away. It goes in a bank. Then, the time of your choosing, you manually put these XP gained in the class of your choosing.
That will make it a lot more easy to organise a party, since people will have choices to use any of their class to participate in any level range party. You have 4 classes : 20, 30, 35, 40. You have 4 options right there.
Let's say you are in Uld'ah, doing nothing but to chat in your linkshell "aah i am so booooored...". Ok, then you see a level 25ish party seeking members. You wish to level up your PUG, wich is at level 45. No problem, you join this group and use your LNC, since it is level 26. After 2 hours of /party, you have gained 20k XP. You go in menu, and you manually put 20k in your PUG.
So, my idea is similar to a level sync (ff11) system, but less twisted. Also, it can bring a whole new strategy. You could use classes that you are sure not to reach endgame with, and level them to a certain level. Then, use these classes to help you gain XP for your endgame classes. With 2.0, a lot more classes incoming, so it will be possible to have "mule" XP classes.
Now, after that, if we still have issues with the fact that it is too hard to get a /party going, SE can just bring level sync in FF14. It works for FF11 after all... each of their FF11 server have over 1k players, daily. The level sync in FF14, with my idea, AND if there is no way we can get XP with PL... then people will have no choice to /party for XP. And it wont be a problem... "ooh no, the CNJ has to go"..."no problem, we are level 25.. my CNJ is 50, i will just sync to you.. here, let me equip my my staff). The level sync in FF14 will even work better, because the player doesn'T need to go to his room, in city, to change class. It's done right away.
It is too hard to make a /party, and it's like that because not enough people play the game. BUT, not enough people play the game because it is too hard to make a /party (ok, with some other reasons, but it sure don't help).
I am just saying, SE needs to find a way to boost up PvE. It is suppose to be FUN to reach 50.. not something you need to get trough just to reach the fun endgame content.
Tell me what you think.
Thanks
