A simple way to fix population distribution and market wardsFollow

Ive mentionned this in other threads but I would like to have One more free retainer but be allowed only One per city.

I think this will help the problem of gridania and limsa lominsa being deserted and improve the market wards in those areas.

I would make sense in the context of the game as retainers were introduced to me as 'not adventurers' so they should stay in one city.

This is a terrible idea. If your goal is to make people quit the game, this will achieve your objective.

What will make grid/LL more populated is having more players - not inconveniencing everyone so they quit.

well i said it wouldnt be the most popular but each town needs a functioning market. Theres nothing wrong with a central hub that Ul'dah is at the moment but it surely can't be considered good that the other towns are so deserted.

Simply more players wont fix it as more players will just go to uldah because they cant get anything to buy as well as flooding uldah with more retainers causing more crashes. I find it more likely that people would quit because of markets not functioning properly. Well perhaps this would be more plausible with more travel like airships and chocobos. If SE stick with market wards over an Auction house like XI then I think one retainer per city would be better.

I kind of wish Item Search lists would allow you to see the prices of items in other cities for comparison sake.

People might start noticing that prices are lower in Gridania or Limsa Lominsa, and stick around there instead.


Also, I think one of the reasons Gridania is so empty, is that a lot of players were having issues with the game crashing mainly in Gridania's zones.

Edit: I'm not a big fan of the "one retainer in each city" deal. Seems a bit too restrictive. Even more so than they are now.
