...an andy kauffman/phil hendrie joke on the players. I got a chance to play this game after release and I was surprised how bad the system is for getting/exchanging goods.
-No trade channels for buying/selling/repairs
-Wards don't enforce what can be bought/sold there
-Retainers are poorly implemented, they should be your link to a real AH instead of what they are.
--You can't tell the retainer to go buy this and have it go through the wards and buy every of that item that's under your price up to whatever you wanted.
-Item search only lets you search one thing at a time
--you still have to go through every ward because the person who's selling the sword you want is with the underpants vendors
-Can't WTB something unless you have it in your inventory and have the amount you WTB on hand. So if I WTB 100 crystals and I don't have 100 on hand, I'm limited to buying the few I have.
--If I don't have any of an item, I can't put up a buy order for it at all.
-No price history/market averages so you don't know if you're getting a good deal.
-There's no easy way to see what's being sold in part because of the chaos of the wards.
--Hence there's no easy way to see what market needs aren't being filled and carve out a niche for yourself.
The people at SE should really play EVE for a week and see how a real market/trading system in a game is supposed to be like.
