If they could add a /shutdown command, so I don't have to do:
Menu > Scroll to press logout > Select Yes > Scroll down to press Exit > Scroll down to press Quit> Yay I'm out.
I would be much happier!

FFXIV: Viilaa Stardancer of Palamecia

Well until they add the command you can use /logout to eliminate those first 2 steps in the process. It'll pop up a little box asking if you are sure then takes you back to the character selection screen and you know the drill from there
I do miss the shutdown command.
I would welcome this as well that way when I need to leave right away I am not forced to Alt-F4 the game because I can't wait for it to load the various log out screens/menus.
Side note, Why didn't the dev's just port over all relevent commands from FF11? Wouldn't that just make sense?

I agree.. the /shutdown command would prove to be very useful..
