Returning Player (Pre-2.15)Follow

I played my BLM way back almost two years ago, had to quit due to personal reasons and now I'm back.
New friends got me back into playing, My previous BLM (Lv50, iLvl75, furthest I got was BC T3) is on another world.

Being a little overwhelmed by the almost 2 years of content I've missed, I started a new character, NIN. Now I'm Lv52 on my NIN and wishing to bring my BLM over, mainly because I have a TON more progress invested in the Old character versus my new NIN.

One main thing I noticed is now you get your iLvl70 (Pre-2.15, this was Darklight/ ** Crafted gear, my BLM has Vanya on) from your Lv.45 Job Quest and then you get iLvl 90 (this was BiS end-game gear, I only have a few pieces of it on my BLM) on your Lv.50 Job Quest ( yes I know you get different parts both i70/i90)

How exactly can I go about getting my Lv.50 BLM's iLvl 90 gear? or I'm I just stuck because I already did my Lv.50 BLM Job Quest Pre-2.15 ?
Feels a bit unfair if I need to grind Poetics while BLM iLvl.75...
Mainly posting in case there is a way to get iLvl.90 gear from someone like the Calamity npc(I checked he only carries the iLvl.50 and 55 gear, iirc that set's called AF1...)

You're stuck as far as getting the freebie AF2 gear. You CAN still get that, but it comes in the form of token drops from dungeons introduced in patch 2.4 (Snowcloak, Sastasha HM, and Qarn HM).

You'll have to grind SOME poetics to get your BLM up to par, but you'll have plenty of time to do that while you're working that character through the intervening patches between 2.15 and 2.55. If you just do all the dungeons you get tossed into, you'll have no problem getting enough poetics to kit out your BLM.

Dam that really sucks was hoping for easy-mode, on my lv52 NIN I cleared a bit of the post 2.15 story as was finding some mobs troublesome, could be just the NIN being a NIN or I was supposed to feel the challenge even at full iLvl.90+ gear. Not sure.

Thanks for the "Where you can still get the ilvl 90 stuff"--tips think I'll run those a bit, hope people still run it on Cerberus.

Ilvl 115-120 is the base for level 50+ in Heavensward. Poetics are used to purchase 120 gear, and there are some inexpensive 115 accessories you can get from someone who has Ishgard access as well.

I realize my advice probably comes too late, but if you continue working your way through the main story quests, it will provide you with the gear you'll need.

For those of us who went through the main story back when it was released, the main story quests didn't provide any gear. However, SE has revised them so that they'll eventually provide you with a full set of i110 gear, including the weapon and since it's all HQ gear, it's as good or better than anything else you could buy from the market boards. Meanwhile, as you do the dungeons and trials required by the main story, you'll also get bonus Poetics tomes for your first time completion, and you should be able to at least purchase an Ironworks weapon with what you collect (for those of us who purchased Ironworks gear the hard way when it was released, you had a lot of hoop jumping to purchase and upgrade a weapon, but now everything you need to get the initial Ironworks i120 weapon and the upgrade materials to get it to i130 can be bought entirely with Poetics).

So my advice is not to worry about grinding out you gear unless you really want to. Getting to Ishgard should be your main focus and the story quests will give you what you need to make it there unscathed.
