Looks like we're getting VR support.

Yoshi P had said before they were playing with it.

I think it might be fun for short bursts, but frankly I got a massive headache just playing a 3DS for five minutes.

Ugh. I'm getting nauseous just thinking about it. I can't even watch 3D movies or play my 3DS with the 3D on. For all the hype, all this VR stuff may as well not even exist for me.

Most of the current VR tech I've seen doesn't use that parallax 3D effect to kind of trick your brain into thinking it's seeing 2 different images and putting them together. It just shows each eye a totally separate screen.

For me, I'm stereoblind, which means I'm totally incapable of creating depth from 2 separate visual sources the way most people can. So for instance when I turn on the 3D effect on my 3DS, nothing happens. It might as well not be on at all because I can't tell the difference beyond a little blurring. But a VR headset doesn't do that. It just shows each eye a different screen, and that should work fine for me.

As for playing an MMO like that... hmm. It might be novel, but honestly unless the game was designed to be seen that way, I think it'd probably just be a hindrance.

I've got optic neuritis so it wouldn't be an option for me. Even it were an option, I think the only thing I'd appreciate it for would be the fly-by cinematics when you enter a dungeon or just flying in general. Not sure how well it would go over in a FATE with a zillion spell effects blowing up on screen. Inb4 seizure lawsuits

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

Excellent. Only a matter of time.

I would not mind them adding VR support, but I think for VR to really make for a great experience (especially in an MMO setting) I think you need a game that is developed for VR to begin with. That is something I am super hyped for though.

lol i remember rushing home after school to watch that... i actually liked it more than power rangers.... but yeah a matter of time? considering VRs current state (which is nothing more than a monitor on your eyes) Im 100% sure my children's, children's, children will have died of old age before VR even gets CLOSE to that or being anything like its portrayed in shows like .hack or Sword Art Online.. Which sucks because I would LOVE to experience THAT kind of VR before I die.. even if its the very last thing I did before taking my final breath.

But yeah I remember in 3rd grade we had to write in our journals what we thought the year 2000 would be like... I remember thinking it would be like the jetsons and we'd all be in flying cars, Im now 32 and I dont see ANY sins that we're even CLOSE to achieving that yet, anyone seen a flying car or prototype yet? Im shocked the back to the future hoverboard thing has actually been done though.
