Weekly Goals and Accomplishments: 5/22 - 5/28Follow

Srry Kat, needed to post early so I can get to business... again!

Looks like the live letter brought exceitement , dissapointment , and a frustrated translator wishing she played more FFXIV. So, I'm sure that we all have some long term goals set up, but in the meantime, let's discuss our short term plans...


For me:

Followup: Wasted 4 hours in T13 last night. Open letter to all DPS. I've been a bard on T13. Megaflare is not THAT difficult... You get a bacon circle, you get an icon, or you get instantly hit. You get the icon, stack. Move out of bacon circle. Don't stand behind boss during megaflare, so we don't get bacon circles on the stack spot. If you get hit instantly after megaflare, wait till the stackers stack, and wait till they get hit, then you stack with them for medica II. See, very simple. 99% can't do it.

Ah well, no matter, switched gears and redeemed myself with 3 back to back T12 clears. And after what feels like and may very well be 6 months, I finally got my dreadwyrm aiming pants!!! On a run where I was a tank, and while running to kite a bennu to the edge, guy dropped bluefire right in my path, accidentally picked up bluefire, said oh crap, and then proceeded to tank the bennu while intercepting the redfire line, like a bard. So it was fitting, lol. And I got two twines, so honestly, now the weekly tower quest is optional. As usual, Infamous got all the rest of the loots. I swear this guy is made of lucky rabbit's feet.

Weekend Goals:

1. Cap poetics and buy/upgrade black mage gloves. At close to 400 poetic for the week at the moment. Need the usual dailies and some coil farm (30 poetic per clear not bad)...

2. Would like to get another stupid horse if I can. Pony farm talent on Lamia has been waning lately.

3. Would really like a T13 clear, or at least to see Ankh Morn from behind a paladin's shield. I heard it is devastating.

Next Week Goals:

1. Cap the poetics and buy/upgrade black mage belt and hat.

2. Try to beat the cheaters at triple triad.

3. Farm stuff and thangs.

Goal for this week: Get up to atleast i100. (i89 atm). Wife's been pushing me to get i90, so we can do WP HM, but my shield is preventing that atm.

Should be a job requirement that anyone translating FFXIV live letters from Japanese to English should play the game in English, so they are accurate to the end product.

Translator from English to Japanese, then translator should play the game in Japanese. Just makes sense.

I finished my PLD's Zeta this weekend, so that's been a great relief. Back to doing things on WHM to get lights for that.

During one of the dungeon runs I ran into someone named Hyrist Aesir. Is that the Hyrist from ZAM?

I (finally) managed to clear T5 last night, so it was good to finally get that done. I even got to main tank Twintania!

Ramuh EX continues to elude me. I've got all the mechanics down, but there always seems to be some sort of unluckiness involved. One attempt came really close (got him to about 5%).

Verdha succeeded on the next try, optimized Crit/Det Sphairai obtained (at a massive cost in gil for SM IV materia), and is now halfway through Lights. Revisited the remaining crafting jobs: Armorer is 21, Carpenter is 18. All non-gatherer retainers now at or above iLvl 100, but really short of ventures.

Waenlona RP'd massively, great stuff. Somehow also found the time to get THM to 30 and finish the class quest, as well as slowly getting gear upgrades to SCH and working her way through a few new dungeons and quests.

So a good week overall.
