Some of that is built into The Loadstone. It's basically the FFXIV version of WoW's armory.

Only thing I can think of is, don't think of this as a XI replacement and be aware of the "mechanic" requirement. You will be required to dodge just as much as you need to know how to do your specific job. All jobs can deal damage but don't forget your primary role.

I think that's really it. Enjoy the game, it is great fun and has a good amount of difficulty.
