So I was playing on my FF14 for PS4 when I went to a relatives house and tried logging on her PC...

How do I login to the server at the top? won't let me select it, but that's where my characters are.

So Aether there is actually the name of the data center.

I am unable to log in right now. Was playing fine until 10 mins ago or so but my friends on the west coast say they have been having trouble on and off all evening. Not sure if something is going on or if it's just happenstance
East Coast, got DC'd from FFXI about ~10-20min ago.
Cannot access any of Square-Enix's websites, FFXI won't connect at all.
This wouldn't be the first Sunday Night this has ever happened to me, TBH.
EDIT: Aaaaaaaaand, ZAM takes forever to post for some weird reason.

I managed to log in for a bit earlier, and someone in my LS mentioned something about DDoS attacks and constant server crashes tonight. I didn't do much until I got into Tam-Tara HM and immediately d/c'ed when my party started to move into the dungeon.
I gave up , if you do log in after a long wait you get to play a few minutes and still get booted. I cleaned the computer, reset routers and still get booted not even error numbers the last few times I tried. It must be an attack....again.

I don't get WTF is with the DDoS everywhere going on these days.
Are people that seriously butthurt about petty little issues that they're willing to cause massive downtime and issues for multiple servers and multiple companies, or are they just seriously THAT ignorant as to the wide-spread effects that DDoS causes on not just their target but lots of other people too?
People need to grow the h*ll up, seriously.
What we need is some kind of international laws about this (since the internet spans the whole globe), and then actually enforce said laws better.

Yea almost all worlds were affected last night..
From what I understand part of the problem is to do with level 3 from what some people are saying.
There are several things going on with them.
One is they are slowing people down that are not their customers.
Another is they are taking money from netflix to give their customers priority..
They are trying to make money from both sides.
There is a war going on between level 3 and verizon and other ISP's and we suffer.
We need laws that stop this from happening.. This is the internet and it should be equal use for all...
Those that want to be part of the backbone should not be allowed to do this stuff.
Internet neutrality.
This is like sprint blocking phone or text calls form a att or Verizon customer or vise versa...
The only other alternative to fix what happened last night is switch to level 3 or SE has to pay them for bandwidth... Kind of like blackmail to me.. I will slow your customers down if you dont pay me.. It is ether that or SE needs to split servers up by region and move them....

The network was temporarily in a high load state, and we monitored the load state until the network stabilized.
got errors: 9002, 5002, 2005.
I was in ST. Imagine the drama there! Kept logging back in to last boss, then get error and booted out. I gave up.
