Query r.e. Overmelded Miners ShirtFollow

#1 Oct 30 2014 at 5:11 AM Rating: Good
Hi Guys.

I have just begun overmelding my Miners gear. I started this process last night.

I have reviewed a number of really good guides on this, including the information from Caimie Tsukino which is a very good thorough guide (thanks btw).

I am however stuck with an issue concerning my HQ miners shirt.

I had to seek assistance for overmelding from one of my Free Company members, and miraculously we managed to get it max melded first time! My last overmeld was a Grasp 1 material, to give me the GP+1 effect. However when I review the gear it says GP+0 in Red.

I have re-reviewed the guides and I cant see any reference to a successful overmeld which doesn't give you the stats.

Can any of your guys give me some feedback as to what the issue is here.

Thank you in advance for your help.

If a particular piece has maxed that particular stat it will show as +0 for the overmeld.

The melder should have received a warning that the piece was not capable of accepting any more of that stat boost during the meld window. Unfortunately, because relic weapons always pop this warning, we've been conditioned to just ignore it.

Hi Catwho

Thank you for your response.

According to the online guides, this particular piece can have GP+1 on it, so why would this happen?

I have even read on threads that they recommend this particular meld order for the HQ Body and I have followed it exactly.

Here is the link to the guide I have been using which mentions this.

I took a look at my own overmelded HQ miner's shirt, and funny enough I put a STR +2 on there, I think to get my 5th attempt at that one node in North Thanalan.

The HQ shirt already has +4 GP on it. According to the chart you shared, the maximum amount that the shirt can hold is in fact 3(+1) for four. The NQ shirt has 3. The gloves too are maxed out at GP +4 from the base HQ.

See the Miner's Shirt here.

I would chalk that up to a mistake in the chart, or just bad chart design since it was confusing.

For my overmelds, to get 600 GP I put a +1 on all the accessories and a fat +4 on my off hand.

In case you were unaware, I want to also point out that patch 2.4 has given us all New Foragers gear. So if you haven't melded out the other pieces, think about upgrading straight to that.

I used that site and spent over 5 million to BiS all my Doh and Dol gear. I think it's the miner Body and hands that's have the red zero on it, maybe the stats changed during the patch.. Since the new Forager gear is 3 million nq and 6million hq it's cheaper to spend around 500k putting new materia on them to not see that red zero. Smiley: smile
