Events using content from other FF'sFollow

Does anyone know if the developers are planning any events (FATE's, etc.) that will feature content from the series that isn't FFXIII? FFXIII is easily my least favorite Final Fantasy, so seeing Lightning in the game doesn't really do much for me. I would, however, love to fight alongside Cecil and Kain, Edgar and Terra, or even Yuna and company. They could keep it from conflicting with the lore by giving some alternate universe explanation. This is something I always thought would have been awesome in FFXI using the burning circle events. I really hope they are considering this possibility. Any knowledge or thoughts on this?

Well we've seen Shantotto from FFXI make her way into Eorzea, but she already had a lead-in with the whole time travel/alternate dimension thing. SE has also done crossovers in other games with the Dragon Quest series, but I'm not sure how much more to expect. After seeing FFXI and FFXIII make their way to Eorzea(and the Golden Saucer from FFVII coming soonâ„¢) it's not unlikely that you might see more coming.

Everybody has a different threshold, but after a certain point the crossovers tend to clutter the lore as you said. I also didn't care for XIII, but I'm an old man. There was no enix when I started playing FF, just Square. I haven't really appreciated any single player FFRPGs since IX almost 15 years ago.

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

Gilgamesh is confirmed to be his original version from FFV, but he's a permanent character now.

I'm trying to think of other canon FF characters that can dimension hop, but not coming up with anything.

Well, there's quite a few in here already, some are blatantly obvious, others are more subtile.

For instance, there's the whole Final Fantasy III's crystal tower now with all the monsters and bosses from there too.

The Gold Saucer is a direct reference to Final Fantasy VII's Gold Saucer, however it more than likely differs in appearance and options greatly. We'll have to see.

Magitek technology from Final Fantasy VI is everywhere to be found as well. Not being in any other game since.

Costa Del Sol is more than likely a direct reference to VII's Costa Del Sol (even though this one is an outpost with some scaffolding, and that one was a big town).

Limitbreaks, big Buster Swords being swung, Final Heaven, Meteor, etc.

Cid, Wedge and Biggs because, it's a final fantasy game.

All the references to Final Fantasy XI despite them upholding that it has nothing to do with XIV. (minions, cross-over events, races, jobs, abilities, similar stuff)

My biggest wish would be for them to have content from NIER (published, but not developed by SE). What a wonderful, wacky game that was.

If it's limited to SE developed games, then my monk would like to look like characters from the Bouncer.

Hopefully there will be a Kingdom Hearts crossover so we can fight next to Mickey and Goofy.
