This is like the millionth time I see a post (with a sometimes clever thread titles into fooling me into clicking it), about Madrid vs the Toronto raptors or something. This is a final fantasy website, so why did all the sports spammers come here of all places to promote that stuff? If I loved soccer I would already know there was a soccer game coming on. If I was a no lifer in my room and only found out about the soccer game online, there would be a problem.

And yes this deserves it's own thread.

No you're wrong, it does.

It's this new thing called spam. Also, congratulate your parents for giving birth to you yesterday.

There has certainly been an increase in this type of spam though.

Actually, there has been a substantial decrease in them. Entire arms of these forums aren't vanishing over night like two weeks ago. Kao and the others are working to fix it.

I don't think the goal of the spam is to help people know that an event is going on. The goal of the spam is to drive traffic to a (most likely illegal) Internet broadcast.

I don't know what the broadcast rules are for soccer games over in Europe. But I did notice some of the spam was for NFL games. The NFL has very strict control over what games get broadcast in various markets. If your favorite team isn't the local one, you may find it next to impossible to catch a broadcast of your favorite without paying for an expensive broadcast package from a cable or satellite company.

There has been an increase on this sub-forum specifically, which is where I spend my time on ZAM.

The frog lived down in a well where there was all he needed to live. One day, a softshelled turtle came by and told him about the sea. 'The sea? Hah! It's paradise in here. Nothing can be better than this well. Why don't you come down and share my joy?'

The turtle tried, and failed as the mouth of the well was too small. 'Why don't you go see the sea instead? During Yu the Great's reign, there was flooding for nine out of ten years, yet the sea barely grew an inch. During Tang of Shang's reign, droughts were experienced in seven out of eight years, yet the sea hardly shrank. Being unaffected by such disasters is the joy of living in the sea.'

To everyone else; It's spam. It has existed since moveable print, and it will continue beyond our lifetimes. Report it and move on, there has been a substantial effort to curb it as best as possible. Don't draw attention to it, don't post in those threads. Just report it. That's what the button is there for.

This is why I like you.
