Weekly Goals and Accomplishments 8/1 -8/7Follow

First week of August, and the 1 year anniversary of FFXIV is approaching!

I'm actually kind of in a rut. Not beating Titan Ex on the last few tries is really getting me down. At least I'm the last one standing, more often than not. Smiley: frown

Capping soldiery is kind of a given at this point, so I'm going to not list it :P

1. Actually get warrior to 40. Didn't happen last week.
2. Next Tuesday, get the last soldiery needed for Laevateinn~!
3. Beat my head against the Titan Ex wall some more. It's just.... ugh. Smiley: mad
4. Beat my head against the Turn 5 wall for the first time once I have Lava staff.
5. Get another atma!

The way I am approaching the extremes is by avoiding Titan at all costs. :)

1. Learn and clear Leviathan Extreme with the FC (was successful with Garuda last week, so we are pushing forward. If we succeed, we will farm him and then move on to T5 clears.)

2. Obtain a BRD piece from ST.

3. Perhaps try hunting.

4. Obtain the Wave Bow.

Get an Oil from ST.

Hunts for more Sands.

I got Rosenbogen last night! How did I not notice that is has 0 Accuracy? Well, to be able to use this nice +4 base damage bow over my Wave bow in Second Coil, I need to upgrade ACC on my Left-Side Armor pieces dramatically.

So Oils and Sands. That's the name of the upgrade game for the moment as far as I can tell.

Oh!! Unlock Ramuh EX. Too bad the Judgement Ring of Aiming also has 0 ACC. So, for me, it's not quite an upgrade to the i90 Allagan Ring of Aiming at this point.

EDIT: Going to read this later to learn Ramuh EX.

I think I'll just post in here to say I'm probably mostly done until they drop the lock from ST.

So until then Guardians opens today and I think that new playstation streaming thing is in beta so I may try that too.

Going to be gone most of Saturday and Sunday. Next weekend, I'll be gone most of Friday through Sunday. Smiley: frown

So, my goals for tonight and Sunday night are:

- Capitalize on Hunt Windows. If a bunch of windows are open, I'm finding a hunt party. Just 11 alex to go until I can build a Novus.
- Play around in T5. Joined a learning group in the PF yesterday, and we got to divebombs no problem. I was in great shape for snakes, but too many others in my pt had died to DBs, so we wiped. I feel very confident though about tanking through snakes, so would love to see the twister phase.
- Level my drg... been at 40 for awhile.

Do my BRD relic quest. Just for lulz mostly, since I use the Elfin Bow but I need something to splurge all this worthless myth on. At least I can Zenith it when I'm done.

MOAR SPROOSE LUMBAR! I dunno what it is, but at 9:00am sharp I suddenly go hyper-OCD and find myself in Coerthas. I'm sitting on mountains of Spruce.

Get my gil reserve back up. Between CULs last melds, BTN melds, crafter tipping for a Summoning Bell, and stocking up a stash of 3-star food mats I'm very, very broke. Again. And my stuff keeps getting undercut! >.<

More Syrcus Tower. I still want that danged UAT.

I'll be nosing around for a Levi farm or Mog EX clear, but I'm not counting on it.

I really want to do more ST... but I did a couple runs earlier this week and got an oil on my second run. Mixed emotions.

I'm in burnout mode so easy goals for me.

Zenith my Braurva. Wrap up book 3 on my spear as that diddn't get done last week.

Continue to work towards getting Stoneskin for Eric (I went from 20-23 last week, just taking it slow an easy. It's for Scholar and I've done decently without so I don't fell pressed. I don't heavily raid with this character so its more a luxury.)

Still an RP this weekend. Debating whether or not to run two events or one. Will determine after work and resting. Have a feeling physical health will be a factor x.x

1. I have 1000 soldiery to go (375 a piece - the 125 i already have) and 1300 seals (minus the 200 I have) to cap my black mage as far as I can go without beating T6 (which is ilvl 109). Three pieces of jewelry to upgrade from ilvl 90 allagan. So next week I will buy a piece of jewerly for the blm and upgrade it with an oil. Smiley: nod

2. I need to get my ST loot for the week. No luck on my three runs so far. Smiley: banghead I would take a uat if it dropped, for one of my alt jobs much later, but I'd like an oil since that would save me 500 seals. Other than that I'll take tank boots or hat, and any body piece except for scylla's casting robe, which I think looks god awful. Smiley: disappointed I did get the robe of divine death in some lucky expert roulette where i popped in on the last boss in tam tara hm, and if I ever get tired of looking like shiny willy wonka I can look like Hugh Hefner? Smiley: dubious

3. I piled on seven more alexandrites and have 2 maps on hand, so I think I'm at 22 of 53 towards the curtana novus (24 after the maps). Still a ways to go but I'm almost 2/3 into having both the sword and shield upgraded. Once I get that I suppose I will start buying soldiery stuff for tank. Smiley: glare

4. I'm at 8.7 million now and the FC has 14 million. Smiley: twocents I need to figure out the ramifications of buying a bigger house, and focus on beating Kat to 10 million. Smiley: grin

5. Maybe.... maybe.... go frontlines to try to help the flames even though I know they will lose... again. Smiley: drunk

6. Hope to all things holy that my "static" actually shows up this week and we actually beat t6. Smiley: disappointed

I finally got back in to the game after getting distracted by various other things the past couple months. I had this whole week off for vacation and I got a good chunk of play in. I'm halfway through lvl 47 and I'm hoping to get to 50 over the weekend. I'm so excited! My question for you guys is, what should I focus on once I hit 50? I'm sure you've answered this many times, but with all the new patches, I want to know what is best to focus on without feeling like I'm missing out on older content too. Obviously I will want to do all the story quests which I'm assuming are fairly easy to find when you finish the "main" one? Or am I completely off on this? Thanks!

The advice I used to give was:
1. buy HQ iLvl70 weapon, and if you finished your hunting log, pick up your iLvl 55 ring
2. spam Crystal Tower for gear, myth, and soldiery
3. buy myth accessories first, buy a soldiery ring first
4. work on your relic weapon, unlock dungeons and trials (some of which require the main and Hildebrand storylines) especially to unlock all the duty roulette options in the duty finder (this will greatly improve how much myth and soldiery you can collect).

Currently, with Syrcus Tower opened up, I'm not sure how frequented the Crystal Tower is anymore. Technically, Syrcus Tower is a part of the Crystal Tower, and what most people call "CT" is actually the Labyrinth of the Ancients which lies before the entrance to the actual Crystal Tower. So now our vernacular terminology is completely out-of-sync with the actual story. If that's not a good option, you may want to pursue the dungeons and trials sooner rather than later and drive for as much myth gear as you can stand. You can follow that up with Syrcus Tower gear to get a jump on iLvl100 equipment (especially since soldiery is going to be your greatest bottleneck).

A good weapon is a bit trickier. I still think an HQ iLvl 70 weapon is a good first step, and getting a relic to iLvl90 is relatively easy enough. Beyond that, iLvl100 weathered weapons are a viable alternative (if you can patiently save up 3 weeks worth of soldiery and snag an Unidentified Allagan Tomestone from Syrcus Tower). The weapon can also be upgraded to iLVl110 much more easily than a relic weapon if you're willing to join Hunts.

I'm pretty happy overal.

Finished my dungeons from my 8th Atma book, just have the FATES left and 2 groups of monsters to do.

So my goals for this week are:
- Finish my 8th book.
- Get 1000 more Myth
- Buy 9th book.
- Finish Animus by the end of the week.
- Spiritbond like mad.
- Get more Darklight accessories from dungeons to desynth.
- Invite 10 or so sproutlings to my FC in the weekend to revive it.

Thanks for the response! I'm going to try to hit lvl 50 today so I'll start working on what you've said after that. I'm excited to get going on end game stuff although I know people have complained in the past about it being a big grind. As for the hunting log, are you talking about the grand company one? I've already completed my archer one but I didn't see anything indicating I can get a reward. I'm still working on my grand company one though.

Xandurson, if you participate in Hunts you will get Myth and Soldiery at a fast clip. You would be upgrading gear quite quickly. (You buy from the gear NPC tent in Revanent's Toll.)

The best part of hitting 50 now-a-days is everything you do is going to offer some avenue of upgrade!

Wewt! One goal already complete. Have my Relic Zenith Ax!

On the same run that also gave me the myth needed to pick up the Axe, I also happenstanced upon the Tank chest, which dropped from a rather chaotic Amon fight which I managed to hold down in the end.

I think my Tank Ego skill just raised .3 >.>

After some problems, i managed to log to my SE account, downloaded the game and now i´m playing, the game is really good, i really like it, i want to give the game a shot and pay for it when the 14 day trial is over, problem is i don´t have a credit card anymore... i haven´t checked if there is another way to pay... anyway, i´m going to enjoy the (limited :p) game for now.

If you're from the EU like me, you can purchase Crysta quite easily through the mogstation by simply using your online-banking with your debitcard from any bank. Not quite the hurdle it was in the past :)

I took BRD hands out of ST because I didn't feel like doing any more runs, which of course meant that when we got to the end, the coffer dropped a UAT, Oil, and a body armor. I also, finally picked up enough Soldiery to use my AUT and got the spear. Then I finished my sixth Atma book. Now, I have my hobby weapon, which I'll probably never finish since I don't feel like dragging other people around to farm maps, and my daily weapon.

Just got back into the game last week after being gone since the beginning of the year (really longer than that, but my sub ran out in Feb). I had a 50War and 47Brd and I feel I've gotten quite a bit accomplished.

Got BRD to 50, finished main storyline, and unlocked hard mode dungeons.

Beat Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan hardmodes. Currently using Bow of Crags. Also got the axe for my WAR from Titan.

Took BRD's ilvl from 42 to 86. The only two pieces of gear that aren't ilvl 90 are bow and legs. Will replace those ilvl 70 legs today.

Really having fun with BRD. And the community seems nicer than it was before I left. During my primal hardmode grind, I only ran into one jerk on titan and the group shut him down the minute he started trying to take shots at others. I've been constantly complimented on my BRD play...making it my main for now. Once his gear is decent, I'm going to work on WAR.

Weekend Update

Valkayree wrote:

Spent most of the weekend doing hunts. No idea why. Got a ton of seals and three log drops (lucky, right!). Spent the 3 logs to upgrade tank pants. Took 1k and bought the immortal flames man skirt for my black mage and upgraded my noct pants on the paladin. The man skirt I bought covers the hole in the back of the augmented cashmere I glamoured very nicely. But its lilac and undyable. It's really hard to make lilac look cool =/ Still have 1k seals for two oils on the jewelry for Tuesday and the week after.

Hunts are a fantastic way to get myth. Myth is a great way to get mysterious maps. Result... 35 of 53. Now I'm into Savage Might III and Savage Aim III and it's killing my pockets.

Sitting at 8.2 million. Down 500k. Wanna know why? Novus is damn expensive if you want to cap just two stats (acc and det for me). I may break down and add parry just to save my fortune. Regarding moving the FC house, the private rooms have to be cleared of furniture, and will be lost when upgrading. The FC house needs to be cleared of furniture and the house and land must be relinquished before a new plot can be purchased. So for that reason I recommend that we wait for a large house, since the cost of the private rooms (300k) cant be reinbursed. There used to be an in-game screen that I could go to that would show all the FC houses, plots and the wards in a table format, and have the server first status and the cost of all the plots, but for the life of me I can't find it now. Did they remove this?

Queues are crazy long for FL now. I think the hardcore are burnt out, r40, or have their gear, and the others are just not interested.

Last night my static beat t6 for the first time, on about our 14th try. At the end all that was left was a tank on the boss, a tank kiting, one healer, me, and the monk and it was at about 5%. We were down 2 dps and a healer. Monk dropped the lb and my uber fire finished him off. Monk mask and ears dropped. I'm just happy to have that one under my belt. T7 tonight.

I sold a bunch of food and lumber yesterday, so I used the proceeds to go ahead and max-meld my WVR AF. Now all it needs is the Artisan's Tool and it'll be 3-star ready. Finally had some good luck too. I failed 2 Control IIIs at 35%, then oneshotted a Craft III at 19% and got an 11% Control I on the second try.

I also got the new Rose Gold Choker and Mosshorn Earrings from our FC Goldsmith in return for a bunch of Chilled 'Tater Soup and HQ Bouillebasse.

Got two Unhidden Maps from our treasure hunts last night, so thats 600k up for sale, plus about 130k in housing items and another 50-60k in food. If enough of that sells, I'll max melds on my CRP tonight too. Then I just need 45 each of Potash and Hardened Sap. Smiley: glare On my server, the old Philo items are now worth more on the MB than the 500 myth items. [Absolutely Disgusting]

4. Beat my head against the Turn 5 wall for the first time once I have Lava staff.
5. Get another atma!

I forgot that we were going on a wine tour on Saturday, so I had effectively zilch play time since Saturday night is XI time. (We took down Muyinga in XI - now I just need 170,000 plasms for my Nantihra hat... ouch. About halfway there.) So, between Friday and Sunday, I did....

1. WAR to almost 39, aiming to finish it to 40 on Wednesday
2. Almost but not quite capped soldiery this week, about 75 short. Even if I don't make it, I'll be less than 450 so I can hammer getting it for Laevateinn.
3. Didn't do another Titan Ex yet
4. Didn't try Turn 5 yet
5. Didn't get an atma ;

What I DID do instead of all this was finish out the latest Hildibrand episode. I can't be the only one who was a little bit horrified of young Lalafell girl getting married of to that Hyur teenager - so relieved when it turned out she was adopted. Nice trolling there, SE. Smiley: rolleyes
