As the subject says, tomorrow will be the grand opening of a FFXIV-themed Cafe in Tokyo, Akihabara. Yoshi-P himself was there to promote the event, and several outlets have reported it (mostly Japanese):

Here's an English report:

The official site is here:

The interior reminds me of the Carline Canopy if I'm not mistaken, there are some interesting weapons on display, as well as some known FFXIV's food (like the La Noscean Toast for example).
And as a curiosity, since I'll be in Japan in around two weeks, I'm planning to visit it, so if there's interest I'll post some impressions and (if they're permitted) photos.

On an interesting note, they have the lantern shield there, and the cobalt sword, but for some unexplainable reason they also have a two-handed great sword there... Hmmmmmmm...

Titan burger just made me cringe... I can imagine that it's served with 8 large fries, and everytime you're about to take a bite of the burger a fry falls off the edge of the plate...

Yeah. I don't think I'd order a Titan burger. You never know when a waiter might come by and knock it off the table.

Or flip your table on you!

That would be the Extreme Burger, I think Karlina's would be Hard Mode... Actually, a table flip would have to be Ultimate or whatever insane mode they add after Extreme (you know they will)

They could randomly put out a plate of "Hunt Sliders" out on the bar. Fun social experiment. Smiley: sly

I forgot to add that certain dishes (like the Ifrit pizza, or the Leviahtan-themed soup), grant you an illustrated card of the corresponding primal with the name written in the Eorzean alphabet. There are also a couple of PCs to play the game with (though you can't stay there more than two hours).
The guidelines for the cafe are called, to match the game, "guidelines for adventurers".
According to the official site, there are more than 33 dishes.

I was thinking about building a cabana themed after a windhurstian home. This is cool!

I actually read the guidelines in details, and boy getting in is kind of complicated...

Basically you have to grab a ticket that is getting distributed from 10:00 to 10:30 each morning (one ticket = one table) for one of the designated time zones (like, for example 12:00-14:00). Once you're in, like other Japanese restaurants, you sit in a sort of waiting room where you order, and only when the order is done you're moved to the actual table.
Maximum stay is two hours, as I said.
I'll try getting in nevertheless, but it looks it's going to be kind of hard..
