I know they said they are going to add a healing and tank job soon (hope SAM is the tank job personally) but i think it would be best if they released all the jobs at the same time, ONLY because if they release another DPS job before the others, it will make the insanely long que's as DPS even worse. I mean, 2 healers, 2 tanks and 6 dps jobs, no wonder dps's have to wait forever to que. to bad i already have both tank jobs lvl to 50. i bet i could get alot of levels running all the NIN's through dungeons.

Low Level Duty Roulette would have been the solution for this back before the last patch. I'm curious how the ability to queue up for Duty Roulette in pre-made parties has affected queue times for individual DPS. My personal experience queueing up for Duty Roulette since the patch has been limited. While I tended to have to wait longer than the average time before the patch, I'm now waiting twice as long with no sign of progress.

My experience has been the opposite on BLM. I've spent no more than 15 minutes in any given roulette queue. Specific dungeons, on the other hand, always have a longer queue even for healers (and even tanks sometimes!)

As a PLD my queues are always under a minute. We definitely need more tank jobs. Too bad shadow tanking is dead in XIV.

Unless nin has great evasion monk hp and 20sec CD on shadows then Proly not. If so then we might have a ffxi situation were people took nin and made it into a tank.

One thing players can't change: the role that DF sticks NIN into.

You must be on one crazy backwards server. Any DPS job i do, it's like 15 minute wait, minimum. My PLD and WAR are always insta que's. SCH is slightly a longer wait then PLD/WAR, i'd say no more then 5 minutes max. The only time DPS que's are somewhat shorter is once you hit 50, prior to 50, good luck.

The DF tries to pair up one melee and one ranged for 4 person parties, and 2 melee with 2 ranged in 8. Since ranged is more popular plus there's only 2 melee DPS classes, I find that Dragoons and Monks get DF parties way faster than other DPS. About as fast as healers get one in fact.

But since Ninja will be a melee job, this might swing around in favor of ranged DPS once the patch hits.

This. If I'm in a hurry, I always queue on my DRG I get DF parties pretty much on demand. My BRD takes ten minutes plus, even during peak times.

Yeah but you could use pf, which would be nice going forward so everything is not so pigeon holed.......like make switch jobs that can fill different roles or pure support jobs that can buff party members And enfeeble mobs to make up for lack of a key role like tank or healer...Just stuff like that would be nice...or a class buff

SE posted a few more pix on Facebook. In one of them NIN is riding on Ifrits head. I can't tell if he's posing or what.. I deduce we are getting Primal mounts... Or it's just part of the NIN storyline, but whatever. More drama with the thought of full sized Primal mounts lol.

It would be quite depressing if we got primal mounts before actual summons for summoner lol.

Either way, between Ifrit's Horns seem to be the 'kill spot' for a Ninja ability and Titan's is likely his Heart while Garuda's is likely her butt.

Yoshi mentioned during the live letter that the "killing blow" move that has the NIN jump on the target's head will have the NIN jump on ANY target's head... mandragora? sure.. ladybug? die. Ifrit? why not. So that's more than likely what that's a picture of.

That batman armor looks retarded.

The AF is great though. We'll all be Shadow clones.

I'm disappointed that it's NIN rather than THF honestly. Or that there aren't both. For me it's lore/style thing. I've no interest in the Ninja as a concept/type but quite a lot in a THF type. It's a completely different style of role to me. I do understand where they are coming from but as Rogue is kinda underground anyway, I think their argument is invalid re Grand Companies. A Rogue's Guild is no different from a Thieves Guild... and it could always be alluded to rather than made explicit.

I think the thing here they wanted to do was keep Steal, Mug and Treasure Hunter out of the game. Just disappoints me a whole heap because I'd have loved to have played a THF and have no interest in NIN. At least how things are now. And no, being able to play Rogue for 30 levels isn't compensation because as soon as you hit 30, it'll be gone.

Guess I'm holding out for the new healer job then...

I agree.

I never even considered that they would not add Thief, because it's such a big job in the Final Fantasy games. Frankly, I think it should have been one of the original classes available in FFXIV.

I really hope they consider working on a THF branch for Rogue ASAP.

I'm quite happy that SE is going back to the original mythology to combine THF and NIN once again. For those of you who haven't played FF1, THF gets promoted to NIN. Over the years, THF and NIN were basically the same class anyways with dual wield, daggers, and sneaky tricks. If Rouge is the main class, that's means THF abilities such as dual wield, poisons, etc will transfer over to the NIN job. The only real difference between NIN and THF anyways is Treasure hunter(mug, steal)

I'm really trying to understand why people want a job that's identical to a class that's already being added. Rogue is another name for thief. Go look at the pictures of the AF for the class. If you played XI then it looks familiar. If you didn't, go look it up. It's actually called 'Rogue's Attire'. Is there really that much in a name?

Yoshi said that Thieves morphed into Rogues over time. Maybe in the future THF will indeed become a job. I also knew the class would be Rogue or Bandit. Just like all the other jobs are lost "arts" and "fighting styles" of the past a THF job would fit perfectly to lore. No matter I'm happy to have my dual wielding class THF type class and Ninja looks hawt!!!!

Thief is still a hope among many of us, but i'd take a wild guess and say that if/when Musketeer/Corsair comes out, Rogue will be one of the base classes for it, in combination with Archer perhaps? Who knows.

Yeah, the class is basically a thief, but since you only use jobs in this game, you'll get funneled into the ninja/katana/ninjutsu/etc. Maybe Ninja could be one path for Rogue that branched off into ninjutsu and the Thief would basically just be more of the same style. I agree that "Rogue" is basically what we're asking for, but the thing is that you have to use your job, unless they break the mold with this addition somehow.

I might be wrong here but does it really matter what the new class is? Classes beyond 30 are pointless. I would agree with your point somewhat if people could actually just choose not to play the jobs, but stay on the class instead. Unless they want to be gimp and probably not even invited to things though I don't think they can do that. Meaning that the class Rogue means virtually nothing to someone who wants to play thf endgame (and do not like nin). Or are classes actually used endgame nowadays?
