Well not only did the myth increases not get changed to what philo used to be.. the increase only applies to 3 roulette..... and crystal tower as opposed to the thing ppl will actually farm... i.e dungeons. We waited all this time for this only to be let down... oh well back to brayflox myth runs

I think its quite a wise decision what they have done. It not ******** over people that have put vast amounts of time already into farming books, but is also lending a hand to people who have not managed it yet. It also gives more incentive to make high levels do dailies, which helps lower levels get through content.

I am farming books for my third Animus, so I am slightly let down that its not going to be "Easy mode" this time around, but its also nice to know that that Yoshida respects the amount of time it took prior 2.28.

But Yes I do agree with you that all I will be seeing is Bray for the coming weeks, yet again.

Live letter said it would be updated twice. once for 2.28 and again for 2.3.. So in 2.3 it might be on the philo level. Hopeful!

Yeah, they are probably waiting to introduce new content before raising again. Don't worry, by that time we will be spamming Crystal Tower 2.

I don't see how it would "*****" people over when they do that after every major up already. During Nico and Live letter they stated flatout they're going increase the Myth tomes rather than lower cost for books, but this increase wasn't that large but eh it's better than nothing.

I think you should edit the subject of your post to this "looks like DuoMaxwellxx still hasnt learned".

You of all people should know not to get your expectation high when it comes to patches to find out that it's not what you wanted. If what you listed below are the ones that have been added, then I'm ecstatic that I have more options than just the SR in Brayflox to get tomes. There's no need to increase the myth in Braflox as this would be the only content people are doing.

Sorry to **** in your cereal but I'm going to and a lot others with this welcomed change. I have yet to log in to play the patch and I won't until tomorrow due to work.

10 CT runs instead of 15 to get a book? I'll take it.

Capping Soldiery isn't a concern to those who are pushing to get their books. Soldiery caps well within the attempt anyways unless you're skipping final bosses just to farm myth, and if you're doing that, well, I personally prefer completing a run than skipping out after two bosses. Apparently, so does SE.

Again, this change shows intelligence on their part. Ever has there been emphasis made to make players go back into older content for progression so that players that are still trying to get through the game, or begin to gear themselves up have people flowing through the content they need and assisting them.

People that just want to skip this habit missed the point, in my opinion. And I'm glad SE is encouraging players to keep these sections active for the sake of newer players.

I'm doing a daily roulette of the Main Scenario to get my iLvl up to take on other content. It's 100 myth, the queue goes surprisingly fast for a DPS (13 minutes last night), and the fights are faceroll easy even if you have a team full of newbies. And the music is good and shooting canons is always fun.

Myth boosts to all roulette AND the ability to enter roulette with pre-formed parties?

Dude, that's gold. They just gave a huge boost to the rate at which you can farm myths without grinding speed runs, AND they made it so you could do it easier with friends.

Unless you've forgotten, quite a lot of people were upset with the fact myth becoming the standard currency was obtainable in quite low amounts naturally unless you ran the new dungeons (which most people auto quit out of) or spam Brayflox.

Roulettes are a one time daily bonus, however, so it didn't really boost anything if you play more than an hour a day. The slight boost to CT is good though, almost near where it should be (200 myth).

If you do your one roulette per day, then you're basically getting an additional 500 myths per week without even trying. And you can queue up with friends.

Regardless of whether you play for one or five hours per day, that's a nice boost.

#14DuoMaxwellxx, Posted: Jun 05 2014 at 11:00 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) except main scenario takes 30+ mins as does CT. why spend all day doing those when i can fully run a dungeon twice in that time and get more if not the same? as for the person who said they did this to make ppl do full runs instead of inreasing in brayflox to do half runs. they coulda increased in brayflox and still kept full runs. 20 myth first boss 30 myth second. 50 myth and 45 sold on last. thus it woulda been justlike philo and would make ppl do full runs. it would take 15 full runs to get 1500 myth which would be perfect since youhave to do 10 full runs to cap sold anyway
#15DuoMaxwellxx, Posted: Jun 05 2014 at 11:04 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) if you play all day and aim for one book a day then roulette boost is useless. especailly when you countthe queue time plus the time some of those dungeons take. you could spam brayflox and get the same amount roulette would give at afaster rate

and id rather do 15 full runs than 30 kill first two bosses and quit runs.

Because I can do Main Scenario as an iLvl 50, unlike some of the dungeons where that is asking for disaster. Also, the aforementioned DPS queue time is significantly lower in Main Scenario. Yeah, it'll take me 30 minutes to run either of them, but if I queue up for a specific dungeon it will take me 20-30 minutes just to get in, whereas I've gotten into a Main Scenario roulette in under a minute as a DPS before.

Don't get me wrong, I'll switch back to dungeons once I have some more gear on my BLM. But I why should I slow down someone else's dungeon run with my undergeared self when there is a perfectly good option that is much more suited to my iLvl 66?

Forgotten? I didn't even realize people were upset over this. And Duo said "we" were looking forward to something in 2.28 only to be disappointed. Were people really looking forward to a patch to let them play this game less? You don't need a patch to do that. If you don't enjoy playing certain content, then play less of it.

Perhaps they feel the rewards of speed-running Brayflox are already good enough? Seriously, 50 myths in like 10 minutes is already damn good. If you'd rather do that than play more casually (and have more fun), then more power to you. I don't see why you feel the need to blame SE for your personal choices, though, especially if your main gripe is that you're not being rewarded quickly enough.

that would be like me replacing 4 cartons of eggs I broken with 3 cartons... umm how does that work?

I disagree. Hopefully they make decisions based on the possibility of creating fun. Not based by a word they used.
#21DuoMaxwellxx, Posted: Jun 05 2014 at 5:14 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) or maybe theyll do what they claim they do (which is listen to player feedback) because I can assure you (for personal experience both in game and on other forums) that Im not the only one who wanted them to make it like philo was.... if it were JUST me then i wouldnt care as i obviously dont expect them to pay attention to pleasing ONE person out of millions.. but that isnt the case sooooo.

Myth hasn't replaced anything. It's always been the same since the beginning of ARR. How fast you can collect it, and the sources where you can collect it may have changed, but what you can buy with it has remained consistent, barring a few additions for Animus weapons.

Removing Philosophy tomestones was just like retiring the penny. It doesn't mean nickles are worth pennies now.

I'd rather the game be developed on an ongoing basis rather than just carbon copying mechanics and rules on top of each other. Philosophy tomestones are no longer a thing and it no longer matters how those were handled. What matters with Myth acquisition is how much of it you need to do in order to accomplish whatever you need to accomplish with Myth. And if THAT balance is wrong, then it needs to be changed. But just straight comparing myth gain rates to gain rates for something that isn't in the game anymore is useless.

I also caution, not just you but everybody, about speaking for other people when you haven't been asked to do that. Invoking a hidden majority is not useful feedback. Go ahead and speak for yourself. Express your own opinions; you don't need to validate your opinions by claiming that others share them.

It's "claiming" when you imply that these people somehow make up a significant majority and that the developers need to base decisions on what "they" say.

Basically unless you have hard data or have been elected to speak for a group of people who's size and position you can absolutely know, speak for yourself and not other people.
