This right here is pretty awesome. I'm all for anything they can do to make crafters more important.

And that bionic eye looks pretty freakin sweet.

Is that everything that is coming or was that just hints at some of the things coming? I am just wondering because I really thought 2.3 would bring the Golden Saucer as well as private housing. Not sure why I thought so I guess, but I was convinced lol.

Pity unlike 1.0/1.23 you can't repair OTHER people's stuff unless that's changed recently, since I haven't honestly checked in a long time since it only cost 1.4k max to repair my junk lol.

Majority of stuff yes, but it was "part 1"..aka the part that rarely has anything exciting in it in comparison to..you know actual trailers and stuff which is usually part 2.

If CT drops Sands of Time, that's a pretty big deal.

but doesnt the items that upgrade soldier weapons to 110 (sands of time) also turn weathered equipment into non weathered equipment, if so youll be doin lots more with CT? In which case i thought the purpose of CT was to bridge the gap between coil and non coil (i.e il100 and il11o sooo CT would be il105)? If not then if its gonna drop the same stuff coil has why would people bother with coil (aside for the allgan stuff)? hopefully CT wont have a weekly lockout for sands of time if it doesnt ill farm that to oblivion lol.

oh and isnt 2.3 supposed to give new jobs as well as another continuation to zodiac weapons? was supposed to be 2.25 ANd 2.3 iirc

Knowing how much Yoshi loves lockouts to keep us busy till next patch, it's likely 1 upgrade item OR armor piece per week, so CT will remain relevant for quite a long time because you'll need quite a lot of them, enough to take you into 2.4.

Weekly lockout or not, I still love this news about CT 2.0.

Kinda answers it right there right? Also, it appears the UAT does not drop from CT 2.0 so people still need T7 minimum.

Logically he would be since he comes in the story after 2.2's story, which involved Leviathan, the only question is would Moogle Extreme be a requirement for Ramuh Extreme.

*IF* you want the weapon... those oils and sands can be put to upgrading the armor and accessories whether you want to step in to coil or not. I guessing the droprate will be low, though.

Oh I guess if it's just the story missions that's not so bad :)

Pretty much, seems they're moving more towards them being related to the story (thus dropping no weapons or anything) and the Extreme versions being the ones that drop weapons and whatnot, Titan/Ifrit/Garuda were exceptions due to being around since 1.0.

My reaction as well, is this the big 2.3 update we've been waiting for? I groaned out loud...

Hi there, welcome to the group.

We don't know you very well, so I'd have to ask this question: What were you expecting out of 2.3 that this is such a disappointment?

We still have half the preview left to go, and seeming this preview occurs during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) there are still some major announcements left to be had - not limited to Frontlines and the possible immediate addition of new Class/Jobs.

But enough on speculation. What is it that you're looking forward to seeing? You're a new member of the community and it'd be nice if we were able to get more familiar with your own hopes for the game, as well as what (potentially) excites you about the existing parts of the game.

Well, a little bit on my end:

Hunts have me interested, I want to try them out but I'm afraid it'll be offset by the fact that I need to get my Atma/Animus weapons. Still, any alternative to grinding at Coil will be quite welcome. (We're getting past Twintania's Divebombs now, but we're not quite to the point where we're finishing the Snake before the big hit.)

Crystal Tower's announcement of containing Oils and Sands, has me absolutely relieved. It's likely going to be rare and hotly contested, but a chance at getting those items that does not involve pushing into Coil 8 is a relief. However, thanks to vanity. I do kinda want to see what sort of other gear drops from Crystal Tower. (Hopefuly some good lucking Vanity Gear.)

Personally, when it comes to the new dungeons, I am kind of excited. So far they've proven that they can make the Hardmode Versions vastly different in concept and scope than what was seen in the originals (Loved Halitali Hard), so I am interested in seeing how they have changed. This time around, it's actually the new dungeon that feels a touch lackluster to me. Reason being: We've been to La Noscea already a few times. I really thought Thanalan would get a little more love with new dungeons this time around. But, I'll give this Island zone a shot, at least it looks like a partially open area.

Ramuh, well, that's a moot point, can't get past Titan Extreme, means I won't be doing the Ramuh Extreme fight anytime soon. Echo does nothing vs lag and 1 hit kills, and there are so many bloody one hit kill mechanics in that fight it's mind boggling.

And as a Roleplayer? New poses are quite nice.

So yeah, even without the juicy bits, there's some things to look forward to.

Also:

The Kraken Boss can refer to 2 or 3 enemies throughout FF and unless Yoshi completely never played the series before, those saying Ultros seem to forget he's an octopus, not a squid.

While Ultros is in the dats with Typhoon (XIII models) it's not him unless it was a mistranslation.
