GC rank & atma books...Follow

Don't be like me. Just about done with my first book, only have the "easy" leves left.
Some are GC leves, and I'm w/e min rank you get through the main story. I have to complete the hunting log, run a dungeon (or two?) and then grind seals for enough promotions to Chief Sergeant...

I will say this, SE expertly executed a plan to recycle what they already had with these quests. With nothing "new" really added for the quests, they've added hours on hours of additional gameplay, forcing you to do stuff you may have skipped.

This was a huge problem on my second character after the FATE change and people moved to grinding dungeons.

No seals = no max rank when you hit 50 = unable to access the GC weapon as a temp. upgrade = useless system

Surprised no one has brought up the impact on the atma portion besides you. Just another reason that nerfing FATEs into oblivion was a stupid idea.

You get loads and loads and loads of seals out of doing daily craft turn-ins.

My PLD is Lv41 and I have 36,000 seals and 175 Ventures (not counting the 20+ I've spent).

I have 3 GC weapons (the Lv25-ish one, the Lv39 and the Lv42), I've got Gathering Body/Legs, Crafting Body/Legs, the Chocobo Barding, the Half-Barding, the whole set of Lv25-ish tank armor and the Lv30ish legs.

Altogether that's what, 90,000 seals or thereabouts?

I get 3-4k seals per day just by turning in craft items that they request, esp HQs. One HQ item gives me 1,000GCs almost if it is starred and ~600 if not and my crafts are only Lv30. I can only imagine how many craptons of seals they throw at you when your crafts are 50 (assuming they still allow you to turn items in at 50).

Not sure why you'd craft on a 2nd character if your main has all the crafts (or most of them).

Screws people who just go for the DoW/DoM route.

They do, you just don't get any exp for them (since you're capped.)

I see about ~1500 seals for a single HQ starred turn-in on my 50 crafts.

Sounds like they need to give you more seals for doing adventuring to bring it in line with crafting, TBH.

I've noticed this too -- sure I might get 160, 200 seals out of a Lv35-ish FATE, but that kinda pales in comparison when I can dump an HQ item on the NPC and get 1,000 seals and do this once for each DoL/DoH class.

Doesn't seem balanced all that well. I suppose they're thinking you can just keep pounding out FATEs as many times as you want in a day, but IMO that'd be a tedious way to get seals. There's Leves, but that takes Leve Allowances to do.

Don't you also get GC seals out of the Duty Roulette?

Ya, Guildhest roulette.

You can get a decent amount of seals doing the expert delivery or whatever it is called where you trade dungeon drops in for seals. That's where I get the vast majority of my seals as I don't do FATEs very often and I don't craft. Most of the drops from the hm dungeons will give you at least several hundred seals and there isn't really anything else to do with most of it. Pretty much everything I get while doing roulette gets traded in for seals.

How do you not have seals? I've been buying Ventures every week just to stay below the the 50k limit. Now that I have my Atma weapon for my DRG, I haven't touched a FATE, but I keep getting piles of the silly things just from trash gear drops from DRing my way to Soldiery cap each week.

I get about 20-25k seals every 3 days just from doing all my supply/provisionings and collecting i55/60/70 stuff from my duty roulettes. No FATEs required

Some missed the point. At min GC lvl, you cap out at 20k seals. Otherwise, you don't have this problem; you focused on GC at some point for some reason.

But yet, at those low ranks you only need 1000, 2000, 3000 GC seals to rank up so it balances out.

1000 seals takes awhile for a Lv20 to get.

Not so much for a Lv50.

IIRC, you need near max level rank on your GC to do expert deliveries.

Nah, you just need to get the last rank before the Lv44 quest (What is that, Third Sargeant or something like that?)

I'm Lv41 and I've been able to do Expert Deliveries ever since I unlocked PvP at Lv30.

GC seals are not that hard to get. I'd say I get about 10k a day from 10 minutes of crafting and from doing incidental stuff.

Never pass on dungeon gear, you can turn it in for seals.

If you desperately need the seals, you can craft (or have a friend craft) ilvl55 gear to turn in for about 600 seals a pop. NQ gives the same as HQ, so it takes about 15 seconds per synth, and the material cost is well under 5k per item if you pick the right item. It's cheaper to buy the materials for an ilvl70 synth than to farm them this way, but it's well worth it if you are in desperate need of seals. I think I used the militia choker, cost maybe 2k per.
