I mostly just want someone to confirm this for me. My girlfriend wants to play FFXIV, but so does her brother and I know that her brother will play a LOT more than her. (he's 12, what else is he gonna do in this day in age) anyways, if I bought them one copy of FFXIV they can both put it on their computers, but only one can play on the account at a time right?
I just don't see the point in buying them each a copy when girlfriend will only play maybe an hour or two every now and then.

That is correct! You can put the client on both, but you'll only be able to register one account unless you buy the game again.
However, you can create several characters for that account, but only one machine can be logged into that account at a time.
