PS4 Beta and Account WeirdnessFollow

So here's a scenario for you. I pre-ordered the Windows version way back in the day, if you recall. I use to play 1.0 but couldn't find my login info so I created a new account during beta for 2.0 and just rolled with it. Applied my preorder code and whatnot, then discovered my legacy login. Created a toon there and have been using my legacy account exclusively. Now, my legacy account only has the Windows version -- My other account has the Windows and PS3 version, and both accounts were upgraded to the Collectors Edition.

So I preorder the PS4 version because I'm heart broken that my legacy toon doesn't get to have the Cait Sith Doll (I know, I know...). I get the early access code, I load up my PS4, sign into PSN and redeem the code. Cool.

Now my question is this -- My non-legacy account is the one tied to my PSN account w/ the PS3 copy. I just redeemed the code on the PSN account. Will I be able to link my LEGACY account with my PSN account and redeem the code when the box arrives on my legacy account? Or did I just royally ***** myself?

You'd have to contact support, but as long as you can prove that you are the owner of both accounts they should be able to link them together. IIRC it's splitting linked accounts that's a pain in the ***. I know it was an option in XI so it should be in XIV as well. Worth a shot.

It isn't so much that I'm looking to link my legacy and non-legacy account. I couldn't give a shot less. It's actually handy having them separate because some folks that come over play on the non-legacy account while I keep my sacred legacy account all to myself. My question more has to do with how the preorder code will be handled and if it'll be applied to my Legacy account and, with my other account already being linked to my PSN account, will I have any trouble linking my legacy account to it? Can I have two SE accounts linked to my PSN account?

Sorry, I misunderstood the question. You can link two service accounts under one MogStation account, but you can't merge two service accounts together. The codes you use to obtain special in-game items are only active on the service account you register them to. It sounds like you want to keep the accounts separate, but you would like your bonus items to apply to both accounts?

I don't think there's any other way to do that except for registering another code(ie. purchasing yet another copy) Smiley: frown

FWIW if you did happen to make two separate MogStation accounts, you can merge the two service accounts into a single MS account. You'll be able to have a single login for MS which might be more convenient for managing payments, adding services, ect. but you can still play both accounts at the same time. Service accounts always keep their unique username and password so you can use them separately, but together. Somehow that makes sense Smiley: sly

Yes and no. To clarify further, and I apologize if I'm wording this poorly to begin with, my non-legacy account had the preorder applied to it, so it has the original preorder bonuses. My legacy account did not, but since the preorder items are available if you preorder the PS4 version, it is my hope that I can use the preorder and get the fait with doll and moogle cap on my legacy account.

So far as my other account is concerned, I'll just upgrade it from the PS3 version to the PS4 version for free.

The question I'm having trouble finding an answer to is this... Actually, let me reword the entire question to begin with and see if this clears it up:

Account A: Legacy Account. Has Windows Collectors Edition.
Account B: Non-Legacy Account. Has Windows and PS3 Collectors Edition Preorder.
PSN Account

As it stands now, Account B is linked to my PSN Account so I can play FFXIV on my PS3. Account A didn't have a preorder attached to it, so no preorder bonus items. I preordered the PS4 version wanting to get the preorder bonus items onto Account A. However, Account B is linked to my PSN account. Can Account A AND Account B be linked to my PSN at the same time? If not, is there a way to delink them? How will Square Enix know to apply the preorder to the correct account if I already redeemed the Early Access code to my PSN account using the Playstation Store?

Ultimately, the items will go to the service account you activated the code to. For example, you wouldn't be able to register the preorder code to Account B in your example. At some point in the process you have to select which of the two service accounts that you wanted the items to go to.

So here's how it ends up working:

It doesn't matter, because I had to create a new PSN account anyway. I'll have to contact Amazon and say that my preorder code for early access isn't working, and hopefully they'll give me a new one. From there when I get my copy I just register it on the new PSN and my existing service account on my Legacy account. Boom. Mission accomplished :P
