Unable to play due to congestion - a blast from the pastFollow

Now, maybe this is a good sign, but right now, 21:28 Japanese time, Brayflox Longstop hard is so absolutely
congested on (Japanese) Mandragora server, that all enemies move in 5-second bursts on my screen.
If I am lucky, that is.

I literally had to bow and leave the PT; and those who were playing with me told me they experience the same.
Almost reminds me of the first two beta weekends of the old version, when you could hit a sheep in La Noscea
for literally (!) 3 minutes with no reaction whatsoever until suddenly, either it or you were dead.

Oh the jolly old times, hahaha!

Ah. Perhaps I should add: playing from the heart of Tokyo, 9 ms normal ping, glass fiber connection.
Basically I'm sitting in SE's office.

I've done a lot of dungeon runs in the past couple of days taking pld from level 35 to 46 and every run has been laggy from start to finish. Many people in my parties and in my FC have been complaining about it too.

I noticed a tiny bit of lag in Brayflox yesterday... like I'd go to open a door, and there's be a half-second delay in the door opening. Then, doing Garuda EX, I had several runs with no lag, only to get lagged in a crucial moment of our closest shot at a win. Argh! Been awhile since I've seen lag like that, but good to know people are playing.

So far in dungeons ive seen other players being jerked around and teleporting. For me the mobs move as normal and i dont notice any lag issues. The servers are more congested because people who only log in on mondays are logging in every day. People who stopped playing until the patch have also started logging in.

I have a feeling these people will stay on now that we have some content that will take some time to complete.

Half second delay is lucky. One the first boss in Halatali, I lagged on the lever for his entire cast time. Wipe!

I'm also having to cast dots multiple times, and dammed if I don't get my aetherflow stacks.

It is a known issue.

There is no excuse for lag anymore created by the game... SE has had enough time to fix it now. I saw people teleporting all over in dungeons this weekend and I dont think one run someone wasn't complaining about lag... One tank I almost could not heal because it didn't know where he was and my spells would be interrupted. We still made it through but when are they going to fix the lag issues really, they have had more than enough time. I job is IT and if I took this long I would have been fired from my job a long time ago.. I mean almost every Monday the servers crash still.. Now with 2.2 more people wil be on.....

I posted this in another thread:

But they should have fixed the lag. To me it probably could be several things.. All the years of losses they dont have the money to invest in infrastructure yet. Maybe they dont want to invest because they think the population is going to decrease and dont want to have the extra capacity in the future (that dont show much confidence in your game). Maybe the host/data center never expected that SE would require this amount of bandwidth. But this far into the game this should not be a issue anymore. SE is not new to mmo's either. I have heard SE is hiring more people or is rumored so maybe they will finally get this under control.

Dont matter SE is not new too MMO and have had plenty of time.. I understand they were taken off guard with how many beta users and People who actually play the game.. That is not a excuse anymore. Also people are paying a monthly fee and expect good service.

Edit:
Yes some lag is the users problem and everybody can have occasional lag.

I've experienced similar problems ever since the patch, but only with dungeons. Trials and CT seem perfectly fine.

But while in any of the new or old dungeons, quite often I'll notice people freezing in place, then teleporting 5 seconds later. But the worst is casting a spell to completion and nothing happens. It's really bad when I'm there as a healer casting a much needed Medica 2 only for nothing to happen, then trying to cast it over and over with nothing happening till everyone's dead because I can't do a thing to help them. Sometimes targeted spells act like someone's in a cutscene and immediately fails. Another odd thing is I can consume a Swiftcast but it won't instantly cast the next spell, so it's useless. I've even tried switching pets as a summoner and the spell just leaves me with my current pet.

I don't know if it's just pure lag exactly because I've noticed I can dodge AoE okay and that's usually impossible when I'm lagging, but there's definitely some trouble with the server accepting the commands I'm entering in for my character.

What I dont get is what is the matter with SE,, They didn't anticipate that more people would play after the patch.. I really dont think they are that stupid to think less people would be on.. If they are that stupid well I dont know what to say. They should have anticipated and been prepared for this patch and obviously they were not. So the question is why? What is the problem? Why aren't they not fixing the server issues? It seemed like a priority in the beginning and now nothing just like gil sellers.

I've found Coil runs to be fine so far...but every dungeon/trial I've done has been horrible. We had our entire party 90000 error about 50% on the Copperbell HM boss, and we logged back in outside the dungeon, losing the run.

We've been able to complete runs, but some bosses have encountered wipes because AoE's can't be dodged as we freeze or objects can't be interacted with.

So far, I've seen teleporting PC's in Halatali.

And the 2nd boss in Amdapor is seriously bugged. 3/4 runs I've done when you get him down to around 40% health all his mechanics stop and he just sits there and lets you kick the tar out of him.

Other than that I've encountered no issues.

Today every zone with Atma Fates is lagging about 5 seconds behind on animations.

I generally try to look on the bright side, but the Atma FATE systems is the absolute worst game mechanic I have seen in a great long time. I don't like playing level-synched, and I don't like Fates. Endless hours of level-synched FATES is the WORST possible game mechanic that could possibly be conceived.

Even would I want to participate in the most boring time sink grind fest zerg nonsense ever, the lag in the Atma FATE zones makes the whole game look like an unstable **** lump on a rotting, maggot infested fish carcass.

Time to re-assess the overall quality of this game.

For me, it's not the fact that it's happening. It's the fact that on any other week we see emergency maintenance dropping on the servers like hot cakes. Yet I'm waiting for any sign of an actual fix. Bug that one in 20 people find? Emergency maintenance with a 15 minute warning. Server is ruining playability for tons of users? Take your time.

Seems like people are having a considerably worse experience than I am right now. I haven't seen the lag everyone is talking about. Just got my first Atma.

As for the grind fest Zerg lump. I can't stand to do much of anything for more than 30 minutes or so at a time so I'll pop some greens and run around. No Atma by the time the choco is gone then it's time to do something else.

The mechanics not working is lag and servers choking so you are seeing it Urzol.. That is the point though, this is not just lag it is the servers choking with out a doubt.

I did brayflox last night and never saw a server choke like that.. We were skipping all over. We died several times because we froze for like 20 seconds in place. The tank was dc,ing all the time in there... For the last boss we went in all I saw was the tank grab the mob, I froze all of a sudden the thing does a half circle around us freezes the bombs come out we all freeze and then re-spawn.. Funny is we made it through still but it was unplayable..... I just spammed aoes the whole time. I had seen lag in there before and other people were complaining they had that freeze frame thing happening but yesterday is the first time I have had it.. I defiantly have had lag in the new dungeons were getting out of a aoe wasn't happening and watch as others were skipping around... Yesterday it was unplayable.

Gnu yea our world server was so bad around 4:30 yesterday it dropped everyone twice. I had got a que to get back on..

We did a Praetorium last night and no lag so I assume the new dungeons are on different instance server..

Se needs to fix this sh*t. Stop taking on new accounts till they fix this lag. All that is happening is it get worse. It used to be just Mondays then people started staying out of instances on Mondays so it bled into Tuesdays sometimes.
