Cash shop retainers for more ventures. Game is P2W now.Follow

I just wanted to create the definitive thread on ventures, cash shop retainers, and just the general pay-to-win'ness of Yoshi's FFXIV.

You need to pay $2 per bonus retainer to rent it for 30 days. The more bonus retainers you buy the more ventures you'll be able to send your retainers on.

There are also items and materials that your retainer can get which will only be obtainable via ventures.

You're basically paying for farming bots from what I can tell, does anyone have any opinions regarding this? I can't afford to be renting out a ton of cash shop retainers.

Can I get some confirmation link on the max cash shop retainers you're allowed to buy?

2 would be good, but I'm still not raising my monthly sub to $19. I hope they don't let people buy a ton of them since they're basically cash shop auto-farmers now.

1- Pay for a 6 month sub, which breaks down to 12.99 monthly.
2- Create and level 7 more characters per server to level 17 (Thats where you get retainers in the storyline)
3- Have them each hire 2 retainers.
4- ???
5- Profit

Go ask this in the Official Forums, better chance on getting a clear answer, less chance this turns into a flame war. (Move along people...)

As far as I can tell, edelphia is right and you can only use the cash shop to rent out 2 extra retainers at a time. It's still too much for me though because you have to buy them again after 30 days.

I wanted to have a discussion about it, I didn't really have a particular question and I don't use the official forums anymore (well sometimes I read them, but I don't post there).

Not sure how it's spam. I can't farm all 4 ventures because I'm not a cash shop user. It seems somewhat unfair to me...? It's fine if you disagree but there's exclusive items that you can only get from doing these ventures.
