New Character: Yugiri
Hailing from the nation of Doma on the shores of Othard, Yugiri and her countrymen have fled their war-torn home and the oppression of Garlean rule in search of refuge. With supplies and hopes for survival dwindling, Yugiri seeks council with Eorzeaâ€™s leaders, that they too may call this land their home.

The fifth screenshot from the left at the bottom shows Yugiri. Is she.... a blue mage? Smiley: grin

I'm loving the parachute pants on that Roegadyn. Looks like he might be an enemy(?) judging by the battle shot.

For a minute there I thought Gilgamesh was dual-wielding lances, but I looked at it again, and noticed the DRG holding the lance that I thought was in Gilgamesh's left hand.

Also, I'd like to know why the chicken is green. Gamma radiation? Cross-breeding with apkallus? The world may never know...

Anyone else notice that Thancred is dual wielding daggers in that first screenshot? Nin confirmed. Lol but for serial, these screenshots have got me crazy excited for the patch.

To be fair though, in allagan with my elder staff i look nothing like a black mage... I want to keep hope alive Hitome! But since it doesn't really fit the garb of the classic ninja or Samurai look either, hope is still alive for me, the #1 blue mage fanatic. Some on reddit were saying that her homeland was the same place where the samurai originated in one of the earlier historical FF titles, so I'm thinking that the meele class is samurai and the mage class is blue?

The one thing in this game I want to see is blue mage Smiley: nod

I want to rejoice Smiley: grin

It does remind me of Kimari a bit ... just an inkling... and if she's a "beast/humanoid" like a Viera, that could give even more weight to the BLU camp... and I really think she HAS to be a Viera...

The way those ears are.... they are closer to Lala ears than they are Mi'Quote ears, but they droop down too much. She's also from another continent. Yup, Viera.

People on Reddit were thinking that as well, but then they got all technical and talked about how the ears wouldnt sit down in the hat like that (because Viera ears point straight up), or that the hats would accomodate the ears like with Miquote and would have no reason to fold over. Then others pointed to a previous poll in 2012 where Yoshi asked players and they overwhelmingly voted that they would like to see Viera. So it could go either way. I'm holding onto my belief that she is a dragon or humanoid lizard species. One can hope Smiley: nod

So, how can the average player benefit from the addition of a new race?

I've always thought a cool gameplay feature would be the ability to make alt characters and use them as NPCs for our other characters. That would provide incentive for people to play as other races and go through content again, but in a way that's still useful for our primary characters.

Regardless, this will be a great incentive for people who have been holding out for the PS4 version to start playing.

That picture does have a bit of a Blue Magey feel to it. I'd be surprised if that was the first new job to be introduced though. I'd expect to see several other more classic jobs before a BLU.

Also, the kind of outed who the protagonist in the Hildibrand storyline is in that third paragraph.
