In December 2.1 was released like 4 days after the LIVE letter? I think it wouldn't be far-fetched to expect the same here. We might even get the patch notes on the 21st!

Yeah, most likely will be 3/24/14. They seem to implement patches on regular maintenance days.

Of course it's the week AFTER I return from being out of town for a week for work. Smiley: glare

I'm not expecting any curve balls in this live letter, but I'm curious to see what Yoshi-P says about housing.

We just bought a medium plot in Mist last night. It was really cool for about 10 minutes. Best part is the Teleport to the Estate Aetheryte is super cheap (~40gil), and there is a Market Board and Summoning Bell right across the street. Looks like I'll be using this instead of Lower Limsa as my go-to for buying/selling.

Worth 20+ million gil? Uhh... I only contributed 100k so totally worth it for me.

I'm interested in the glamour system. I will be extremely happy if I can figure out a way to make my paladin gear look like my allagan caster's gear. I want it to be cross class, although I know that is probably not the case. Also it would be extremely cool to see expanded dye features / multiple dyes on each armor (including AF and allagan gear).

Wishful thinking until I hear more on the topic.

I kind of wonder how that will work with weapons, will you look like a BLM with a giant sword? :p

If they go with a system like WoW did, which I'm fairly sure they will, it will have logical restrictions. Those restrictions are as follows:

1. You must be able to equip it on that class, i.e. Plate > Plate, Cloth > Cloth.
**We most likely will not see Paladins running around in cloth gear or Black Mages running around with swords. It's silly and doesn't make any sense.

2. You must own the item you are switching the appearance to. If you want your Monk to be all Goatskinned out, you must own that set in order to do it.

3. If it is a weapon you can equip, they may allow cross weapon appearance switches. Such as with a Gladiator. He/She can equip both 1h Swords and Daggers. You may be able to Glamour your Sword to a dagger or vice versa, but no Sword > Wand, etc.

4. You must meet the level requirements for the gear. Even if your Black Mage is 50 and can equip the vanity set you want to use, you will not be able to use that appearance on your level 20 Arcanist's gear, but you can do the opposite.

In WoW, the gear available for this system is limited to "Green" or colored text (magic) items as well. You can't use "white" or vendor gear with no stats for your vanity set, although this may change with XIV. I don't think we'll be able to Glamour our armor to say a summerfest bikini though.

**I'm sure there are some folks out there that would want to make their mage look like a warrior, but historically more people end up complaining about it breaking their immersion in the game or the developers don't feel right about allowing it from a lore standpoint. I'm all for whatever makes the people happy though.

Totally forgot about the vanity system... yes, I'm actually looking forward to that, too!

Between housing and vanity gear, I think there are lots of good incentives that could be worked into the game.

Damn, wish they could at least lift the restriction for crafting classes so at the very least I can craft in my Allagan without looking so ridiculously stupid in my patrician's set. Someone has to tell them that tights + knee high socks + dress shoes looks weird. But if it is limited to class only, I'll probably just take the coolest pieces of the AF sets for each crafting job and plug them all together. Some armorer stuff with some alchemist stuff, with goldsmith things thrown in... That could be cool.
