Colour issue when moving?Follow

Hello all! I am running into an issue with my video display that is exclusive to FFXIV, and wondered if anyone else has encountered the same problem, and could perhaps shed some light on the problem.

Essentially, whenever my character is in motion, or whenever I move the camera, the video takes on a slightly cooler or more blue-ish tone. This is especially prevalent in any greens that happen to be on the screen (plants, etc), but is apparent in the colour palette across the game. The end result is the entire screen brightening and darkening as my character or the camera moves or is stationary. Has anyone else run into this type of thing before? I play on a PC, and have never encountered this issue with any other games, which leads me to believe the issue has to do with FF as opposed to my graphics card or my display. I run everything on max settings, if that helps diagnose the problem?

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated, it is really distracting from my enjoyment of an otherwise excellent game! One last note: I noticed the problem since the most recent large patch (that added wet surface effects, etc) went live, but I don't know if that is just a coincidence, or when the problem actually began. Thanks in advance for any help!

I've only seen something like that when a VGA connector between the computer and monitor is damaged or loose somehow so that, as in your example, the green pixel data stops flowing and it shifts to blue and red only. Can't say for sure that's your problem, but it couldn't hurt to make sure your video cable is connected securely as a first step.

Thanks Xoie. I took a look at that, and it doesn't seem to be an issue. As I mentioned, this particular problem seems to rear its head solely when I'm playing XIV...I've tested a number of other titles since I noticed this issue (Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Fifa 14, and others), and there does not seem to be an issue like this in other application I run.

Try updating your graphics card drivers.

I had a graphical glitch in WoW on one of my computers last week. Every time I'd load into the game, the screen would go black for a split second several times during the log in process, but yet wouldn't do that in any other game.

Updated the drivers, and BAM. No more flickering, even though all the other games worked properly.

There is a setting for motion blur, you could try setting that to an off state. Especially since you mention it only happens during movement. If that doesnt fix it, then yeah, no idea.

I would also check for an updated driver. Both nVidia and Radeon have done some tweaks to run XIV better since the game came out last fall.
