Fates for gathering classes?Follow

Would you guys support fates for gathering classes?

They could work like the current fates that require you to turn in items but you have to gather the required materials in a timeframe as a group. Maybe give bonuses to HQ items also. The rewards could be unique materials that can't be gathered by normal means.

I would be ok with this. Could have a flustered merchant in South Shroud who has tons of orders due for his furniture, but no lumber in his stocks. Or an adventurer who wants to propose to his lady love by surprising her with hundreds of mistletoe. Or, you know, other things that miners can do :P

Probably not. The battle ones are already dead for the most part.

But assuming people were around to do them, it could be fun if there was a minigame involved and it was also high reward (the only way you could get people to do a minigame type of thing). Just getting everyone to complete a piece is just a glorified fetch quest though, similar to the "battle" FATEs where you pick up junk off the ground like someone doing community service on the side of a highway.

Sure. I don't see why not.

A FATE would randomly pop up and the goal would be to build something. A fort, maybe. Requires lumber (BTN), ore to make material for the house (MIN).

Fishing could be compensated by having fishing contests set up at random intervals. Go there, fish a bunch in the time allotted, and turn them in.

Ideally, to combined them all, you would need an active area of the map that can be held by hostile entities (like in Quarrymill). You would add supplies to the fort (lumber, ore, and food) to overcome the hostile force present nearby. Or something like that.

I love this idea. I can imagine something like the miners in copperbell mines hard mode; except these are builders and they want to be fed with fish. They're picky eaters so the better the quality the harder they work.

I also love this idea! This would be awesome in lowbie and mid-level areas such as Quarrymill, where there are tons of people throughout the day.
