Just a random thought of the day. I think it'd be awesome if we could buy/rent buildings and have adventurer/free company owned and operated shops. Like if we could have special towns or even just a district within the town where players could put their items up for sale. I know there's the market board, but honestly I hate it. I equate the market board to a bulletin board at your local community college. That's how I feel. Plus I think it would give a game more depth and people could have cool reputations. "I only get my gear at ____ in Ul'dah. They have the best gear for the price." And etc.

Like I said, random thought.

Smells like retainers ward from 1.0

And it was awfully done last time. The biggest issue was that you didn't know which retainer had which gear. So you had to look them up one by one.

When they implemented a search feature, it was getting closer and closer to the market board that we have now.

Ah, I never played much of 1.0. I was just thinking like it'd be cool if it was a shop you could rent have 1 maybe 2 retainers but it could be like Retainer 1 name and underneath <Weapon's Merchant>

You could customize your shop, maybe add some cool signs out front. Free Companies could then just keep adding merchandise to the retainers, and all funds would be automatically distributed to the Free Company's gil.
