Can you send mail to an alt char / mule?

This is NOT a discussion on the validity of creating multiple chars in FFXIV-ARR. Please keep your opinions to your self. I want to know how I can mail items to my mule. I'm not a goldseller. I'm a crafter who wants to hit all crafts in time and store up lots of materia. Not that it matters what I want a mule for I just want one. Plz focus on the question only. How do I mail a mule?

I found this old post on a forum and wanted to know if it still applies. I've been trying to do this all day long with no success.

There's actually a work around for this that makes it so you can add yourself to your own friends list.

From the official forums (I **** you not. ******* blew my mind to find it there):

Step 1: Log on character A and log out inside of an instance (it will appear as online and inside the instance even after you log out)

Step 2: Log on character B and send character A a friend invite.

Step 3: Log on character A and accept the invite

Congratulations you can now mail things to your alts.
They don't mention this, but you will need your characters to be in the same FC/LS so that you can see them to send an invite, since search functions won't work otherwise.

I created an LS for it from my wife's account, then invited all of my alts to it. After that I ran a quick instance and logged out at the end of it. I cycled through my alts, each sending my main a friend request. Logged to my main to accept them all, and now I can mail items to myself.

Anyone know?

As far as I know, there's not a direct way of doing it. Most people, as far as I'm aware, just send there stuff to a friend who sends it to the mule.

If you don't have someone you trust enough, then you're most likely SOL.

If you can get some help setting up a FC, you could make one simply so you can use the company chest to move stuff between your main and alt.

I was able to get both my main and alt as friends by doing the method you quoted months ago and they're still on each respective friends list today. The only thing I can add is on step 3 that I wasn't able to actually accept the request immediately upon logging into my main when I reentered into the instance. Once I exited the instance though I was able to see the friend request and accept. If you can't get it to work then it was probably stealth patched out somewhere along the line.

Ay it was patched. There isn't any current known way to add your alt. :(
