Hi,
I play on PS3; I just bought the steam version of FFXIV to be able to play also on PC.
Today, after installed in my computer the game at the log-in I put my user ID and pwd.
Soon after and advise stated that I was trying to log-in from a different place and therefore my account has been suspended and I was invited to change my pwd with a complicated procedure ... e-mails. links and so on ...
I followed the instructions and changed (not for my will) my pwd; after I did not log-in from my computer because now I am afraid that when I will try to log in from my PS3 (the usual) I will be obliged to do the same.
So ... what happens ? everytime I change from PC to PS3 or from PS3 to PC I will need to do such things ?
anyone knows how to do to have things more simple ?

I think most people will ask you this, so let me ask you ahead of time...Do you use a security token by any chance? If not, I highly suggest getting one. I've found that most login issues like this are taken care of or nonexistent when using a security token. I'm sure some will disagree with me, but this is what I've personally found to be the case.

Unless you have a Security token, everytime you log in from a diffirent place, an automatic security system kicks in which will lock your account until you give your approval for that session.

It might be anoying to some, but for many of us it's a godsend instead of having our characters constantly in danger from being hacked. There simply isnt a possibility for that anymore with this system in place.

So, long story short, everytime you switch from PC to PS3 or from PS3 to PC or basicly from your regular computer to any other computer, you will need to re-allow that session by answering the email they send you. Following sessions on the same platform following a previous login on that platform wont have to be allowed, just on every switch.

Or you can take the time and invest in a security token (although pointless with this hack-prevention in place), which will make your logins a little longer by having to input an extra code, but being able to play instantly.
