REDUCE DURABILITY PLUS 10 PERCENT do anyone know what this stat is on achievement items? I've spent millions thinking it was special to crafting now I see it on all items, I think it's for repair.Smiley: frown

Reduced Durability Loss just means your gear won't degrade as quickly. It's to save on repair costs.

Speaking of durability, I really wish they'd add a graphic to show your damaged gear, like in other games. I'm terrible at watching the chat box for durability announcements, or remembering to hit the mender. By the time I realize I should repair, I usually have a few broken pieces.

That special stat only comes on Luminary items. I have never seen it on anythign else, and luminary items are very time consuming to obtain. I wish the reward for the luminaries would have been better than this, but yes, it only means that you can craft 10% more without having to repair your craft gear while this is equipped.

It's also on the Onion Helm, but I believe that was a North America bonus item for pre-ordering the 1.0 CE, and can't be obtained anymore.

Actually, if you look at your character screen, it actually does show the condition of your gear. Next to each piece of equipment there is a vertical line that shows the condition of it. The lower the line, the greater the wear on that piece will be.

Oh, I know. I meant how, when playing a game like WoW, a graphic would pop up on your HUD showing damaged item slots in yellow (and broken ones in red). It was a constant reminder to repair, when needed (I THINK it was >50% durability when they turned yellow).

Because I'm on the PS3, I tend to play the game very differently than in other MMOs, which generally means an aggressive attempt to not access menus except when needed. If I was on the PC, hitting C really quickly just to check durability would be habit. But my keyboard is usually off to the side outside of groups.

I SHOULD get in the habit of just hitting the mender whenever I'm near one, but I don't have that down yet. I basically repair every time I open the character screen outside of dungeons... But that's pretty rare, since I'm only leveling one class at a time, I'm not really doing endgame stuff, and I only open it when I get drops.

Broken ones in red do appear on the HUD, right next to the dots of your inventory. Spirit bonded ones appear as white. But you are correct, we don't get a yellow 10% warning graphically.

That HUD element is only in the PC version, IIRC, unless there's some way to enable it on the PS3. I do remember being bummed it was missing after trying out the PC version.

Sorry I forgot to say Thanks to the responses to this. I suck at FF14 so login once week .Smiley: frown I recently did the little lady minion quest and went by the achievement label guy in Gridania...he gave me around 15 level 55 items with reduce durability. I think I trashed everything but a pretty gown and a chocobo suit. Thank for the Reduce Durability info. Smiley: smile
