Looking for an FFXIV-ARR forum.Follow

#1 Feb 14 2014 at 2:02 PM Rating: Decent
FFXIV-ARR players need a main forum.

Zam has a lot of nice people. No trolls. An organized appearance. But one fault. No way to post pics or vids. I can't over look that.

Lodestone (OF) seems wacky - it doesn't let low level players post. But that is when a player needs a forum the most for support. Only the very lucky get a good FC when they start.

Google Search brings up a lot of small forums. Many of these I've tried but all have bad moderation rules, worse manners, or trolls galore.

Right now I'm trying Neoseeker. It seems heavy on pics and vids. Where it lacks in attractive appearance it makes up for in functionality. It is the latest forum I've tried out of many. I don't know if I'll be satisfied.

Does anyone here have a favorite ARR forum they frequent?

I've been visiting this one for ~7 years every day :) I believe (as I'm a new admin) that video's/pictures are with a premium account however I would defer that question to Thayos/Wint or another admin ^^

Like Final Fantasy XI, the game specs will be extremely high for the time, but in about 5 years, an average machine can run it on max settings with little to no issues. Tanaka also expressed interest in making a benchmark program available.

I actually really like the fact that there are few pictures and videos. Keeps everything less cluttered.

Remember the old Killing Ifrit forums for FFXI? Those were awful. Each post was like half a sentence (either snarky or wildly unhelpful) with a HUGE pic and/or sig.

EDIT: Just looked over at KI, wasn't even sure if they were still around... looks a lot nicer than it used to.

How has that site not closed down by now? Smiley: eek It's been years since I went there, and even then, the only activity was typically one post a month from someone wondering where everyone went and getting no reply.

Priorities, man.

So says the guy that doesn't want to use a discussion forum because he can't embed pictures of Pinkie Pie or Youtube vids of dancing tarus.

There are a lot of things wrong with the OF. Lower level players can post. :X

This and the occasional OF thread (for amusement) are the primary forums I use for 14.

It's your decision where to spend your money that's for sure. I think our fee is reasonable (even before I was an admin I was a paying member for years), it's like $3 a month. For as much time as I spend here, it's worth the pittance to have no ads and extra features.

Oops, $3.33 a month if you pay for 3 months, $2.50 if you pay for the entire year up front! Que Ganga!
