Cancelled my sub :( :: World of Warcraft

Hi guys,

I've been putting off writing this thread... I actually really love playing the game and loved playing with the ZAM FC on Ultros especially, but I need to put the game down (at least for the time being) because it has been causing problems for me in my relationship with my fiance.

She actually played with me at first, and we had fun at first too, but as the game progressed she became less and less interested... she LOVED FFXI, but just can't stand this game...

So, since she wasn't playing, and I was, and I've been spending a lot of time playing since it's an MMO... I had to make the decision to cancel my sub yesterday.

I'll still stop by the forums to check in, and may still play again someday - but in the meantime don't expect to see Meat Mithkabob on FC chat... Smiley: frown

Do what is best for your relationship, family first. I have had two friends who had massive problems with their wives playing FFXI and had to quit the game. They played too much and sometimes you need to find a medium, if not it is best to quit.
I am lucky Tesee plays these games more than I do.
You will be missed.

Curious what she did not like about this game?

Thanks for the replies guys.... Like I said I can still stop in on the forums and say hi... so I'm not "gone" forever or anything...

And who knows, maybe someday she'll warm up to the idea of FFXIV: ARR again...

This right here is why I play XIV casually. Most nights I'm spending time with my wife after the kids are in bed.

Well that's good.

I definitely know what you're going through too. Stuff got ugly for me back during FF XI times, which is why I'm as strict as I am about the time I spend online. Don't want to go through that again.

Yup. 2-3 hours a night, 3-4 nights a week.

Means I'm jonesin' for the game when I do get to play, my leve thingy is almost always at 100, and I've got a permanent rested bonus on my lower leveled jobs.

Same here Cat. I think the fact that i play in short bursts keeps my wanting to come back.

As a rule, I play early early in the morning before work, and for maybe an hour after on the weekdays. My FC runs BC on Friday nights, so I'm always on for that, and then I pick one night a week for our rotating calendar.

Weekends I only play before my wife is out of bed, or when she falls asleep on the couch lol.

My #1 rule is that I don't stay up after she goes to bed. We always hit the sack at the same time. That was our big fight before.

good for you being responsible. I don't play that much these days, maybe an hour each night or every few nights and then one long day on the weekend. My wife HATES games newer than the early SNES era (except Mario Party and Wii Shawn White lol). We don't have the most perfect marriage, but if I ever thought gaming was the reason for that I'd stop certain games and stick to ones that I could just play if she went out for a girls night or something.

I would say you should be ashamed but it's apparent you are incapable.

I wish there was a way I could ignore you to the point I didn't even know you exist.

Just curious... is she playing other games while you played XIV? If she liked XI, there are some games coming out in a while that are geared more toward that kind of play. By then XIV might be more appealing to her, but something to keep in mind.
