Hello guys/girls,

I've come here to ask for a little advice, The advice I need is on Myth gear I'm stuck on what to do.. Hopefully some of you can help?
What I'm having trouble deciding is what to get next?
Here is a picture of my character below, I have labelled what my items are and would like suggestions/advice on what items I should by next with myth tomes:

http://imgur.com/cakNopo

I understand this might be a simple answer for some people, But I don't want to be wasting tomes where I don't need it at the moment,

The Vanya gear has Crit materia melded to it.. But its not over-melded (Don't have the money)

Thanks!

You made a good investment on that myth ring.

Work CT for those boots, they drop off the first boss. Your AF2 body should be your first thing you get. The accuracy boots will help you in BC. Join a BC group and get you some allagan. My personal order to get to 90 was:

Rod (Zenith) > Ring (AF2) > Gloves (Allagan Drop) > Boots (Allagan Drop) > Ring (Allagan) > Body (AF2) > Hat (AF2) > Pants (Allagan) > Necklace (AF2) > Bracelet (Allagan) > Earrings (Allagan) > Belt (AF2)

I saved the belt for last becuase I was hoping to get Allagan off of turn 4, no luck. Necklace drops turn 5, you are better off getting AF2 for it. I later picked up the allagan chest in turn 2 and decided to use it over the AF2 becuase other than BC, your accuracy doesnt matter, and when accuracy doesnt matter, Allagan chest is best in slot (BiS).

Your blm drops in Bahamuts Coil are as follows:
Hat (Circlet) - Turn 1
Coat - Turn 2
Gloves - Turn 1
Boots - Turn 1
Pants - Turn 4
Belt - Turn 4
Bracelet - Turn 2
Earrings - Turn 4
Ring - Turn 1
Necklace - Turn 5
Weapon - Turn 5

Think the boots and/or gloves might drop instead in turn 2, but that is pretty much your rundown. Best if you are going to run BC to get the AF2 first that will drop in later turns (i.e. the necklace, earrings, pants, and belt) but definitely AF2 the coat to sub in for BC (for accuracy boost) and the hat (the hat is BiS).

In general, I would prioritize myth upgrades in the following way:
1. Myth upgrades that are considered "best in slot" that don't cause you to lose accuracy.
2a. Myth upgrades that aren't considered "best in slot", but the Coil alternative drops from a turn that you aren't likely to clear consistently.
2b. Myth upgrades that are considered "best in slot" but will cause you to lose accuracy.

That all assumes that you run Coil (or plan to run Coil) and want to keep your accuracy high enough for Turns 4 and 5.

If you want to get more accuracy so that you can comfortably drop accuracy in certain slots when you upgrade, you can go for relic body and/or relic feet. Waist is another myth upgrade that can get you accuracy (Allagan's is probably BIS, but it's also a Turn 4 drop). My accessories were in a similar state last week, and I wound up upgrading wrists to Hero's. I believe Neck and Wrist slots are the exact same upgrade with Hero's and Allagan's.

I see you're already loading up on CT gear, so, I suspect you're following the same strat I am by default.

If the goal is to raise your iLvl as efficiently as possible as a newly minted level 50 character, it seems sensible to avoid using Myth on your "left hand side" armor pieces, at first, since they all have a reasonable iLvl 80 drop for each slot in the Tower. Instead you could spend it on the "right hand side" accessories which are notably absent from CT. Following this strategy, and eventually obtaining a basic relic weapon, you should theoretically have at least an iLvl 80 rating after 5 weeks (assuming the RNG gods are kind with your weekly drops).

Do you run Coil, Omni? If so, your first order of business is to somehow get to 432 accuracy.

Aim for around 425 accuracy with gear and eat a deviled egg for food. Gives you crit, vit, and accuracy.

I have not looked over the CT gear very much but I would follow Valk's advice. BLM AF2 body will last you for a very long time. In fact, it will last you up until you are able to get your Allagan scepter + shield which finally enables you to drop the AF2 body in favor of the Allagan body. But the scepter is a turn 5 drop! So plan accordingly.

Like sylvons stated: the AF2 feet are also a safe buy. The BiS for feet is usually the Allagan boots of casting or AF2 feet since they have the same stats. I might recommend you actually wait for the Allagan boots. Just hop in a T2 cheesemode strat group in PF one day of the week and you will be able to down turn 2 and get a chance at the boots: you don't even need to beat turn 1 first. Keep in mind, though, that you will not be able to do turn 1 the rest of the week until reset if you beat turn 2.

Another very safe buy is the AF2 head. It is actually best in slot regardless of what gear you get unless you prefer a determination build on BLM. Since not many BLMs I have seen use such a build, I'd honestly just go for the AF2 hat.

I really like Puro's graphs/charts/BiS list here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqG_cUArVwt5dExEVEJIRmJHd2lrczg4cnZxTDVkM1E#gid=50

When looking at the BiS, you will almost always see Allagan scepter + shield mentioned. Since you probably won't have access to that right away, scroll down until you see the "Patch 2.0 BiS" section where you will find a more reasonable list. Replace the stardust rod +1 with the elder staff (extreme primal rewards) and it's still fairly accurate. The only offset would be the extreme primal accessories.

Hey guys thanks for the replies, I'm actually going to be starting to run coil on Saturday with my FC, we are going for a practice run this Saturday, hope all goes well and I can use this advice! I was actually thinking of buying AF2 boots or hat since directly after I wrote the original post I got crimson pants from CT lol.

Also wondering how does coil work? Is it the same as CT where if you loot an item you are locked out for the week? I heard that it's if you complete the turn you are Locked out? So confused lol.

Thanks again guys!

For coil, no matter what drops from the boss, you may not repeat that turn (or receive loot from that turn) until the next reset on Monday. :(

Hitome do you know the accuracy required for T4 and T5?

Is it different?

Different for BLM than BRD?

Having a hard time finding sources for this that agree.

Edit: For BLM, testing has confirmed 432 accuracy is 0% miss rate at Coil T5

432 is all you need for BLM. I believe this is the cap for SMNs as well as pet accuracy was changed to the master's accuracy in 2.15. You will need to confirm that with other SMNs, though.

I'm not sure what the ACC cap for BRD is but I know it's quite a bit higher. For MNK, it seems to be 475 to hit the little snakes in T5. Twin herself has a lower ACC cap than her adds. -_-

Bard accuracy:

Quote:
472 for everything up to and including Twintania in Turn 5. However, the large named snake present during Phase 3 of the Twintania encounter has a hit cap of 486.

This seems to have a ring of truth.

That's awesome. Thanks Gnu!

It's interesting that they'd make the big snake require higher accuracy instead of Twin. DPS is really stressed during that phase.

I wonder if this applies to casters as well. Normally, 432 is enough. I don't think I've ever missed on the big snake, either.
