...who likes dress up time with their character right? I mean, I might be the only 36 year old heterosexual male who does, but not the only person at all?

This came up because I have been levelling my DoH and DoL jobs lately, and I was re-reading Hairspray's thread about having a single set of crafting gear for every job. And when I read it, my first reaction was, "But what about dress up time?"

I like having different outfits for each job. The thread suggested having a single set of gear for every crafting job, and I immediately rebelled against that thinking that it would make me lose 7 outfits.

Ok, so I guess I am the only one...

That makes me feel so much better Lebarge. I also have a female character, which probably isn't all that strange in the hetero male gamer world. I wasn't like this when I played WoW, though. Then again, you couldn't change an entire outfit just by pressing a button.

I have all DoH and DoL at 50 each with HQ class gear on and I parade around proudly as a 38 YO male. I love the BSM the most because I can show off my Muscular arms >.<

OMG I hate when my DoH or DoL headpiece looks like one of those things greco-roman wrestlers wears. I also much prefer thigh boots on my hyuran female. Not enough of these exist.

34 year old female and dress up time is half the fun of leveling a new class.

I use custom made dyes (love some of the blues) and freak out if my armor doesn't match my weapon. Smiley: laugh

The best thing was that DoL and DoH AF outfits can be dyed.

My guilty pleasure is when I take one of my level 50 characters to a Low Level Duty Roulette, I dress them up in one of the outfits I've assembled but don't use anymore (since it's all going to be level sync-ed anyway).

I enjoy the different looks for each class's AF. You can achieve the same amount of Craftsmanship, Control and CP using AF instead of the pimped out HQ Patricians:
HQ offhand: Tier 1 Craftsmanship
HQ hat: Tier 1 Craftsmanship
HQ body: Tier 1 Craftsmanship, Tier 1 Craftsmanship
HQ hands: Tier 1 Craftsmanship
HQ legs: Tier 2 Control, Tier 3 CP
HQ feet: Tier 2 Control, Tier 3 CP

It still requires pimping out your waist and accessories the same way. But those are non-visible, all-class slots. I wound up doing Tier 3 Control on the legs and feet instead of Tier 2, so that if I choose to pimp them out later, I don't have dump the current materia and start over. On my server, the cost for the materia for one class is around 50k (if you use Tier 2 control) to 70k (if you use Tier 3 control).

I dropped all the gill I had and bought the Vanya Robes because I hated how ugly the DL cowel was on my Lalafell, of course now I'm kicking myself because now they are selling for like 80k and at the time I payed 250k. Still the best 250k I ever spent, that DL **** is ugly and there was just no way I was running around like that while waiting for a BC drop or to get my myth robes. I've also wasted a lot of gill trying out different dyes.

I also probably spend an unhealthy amount of time just looking at my character in different outfits.

I also only play female characters, only cause I always find the male ones to look ugly, and I am a 33 year old hetero male.

Yeah, I'm dreading getting the DL armor for my PLD because it is hideous. I hate the head/chest and leg/feet combo pieces. I'll probably be stuck in it for a while, though, because I have altitis and I will be levelling alternate classes as soon as my DoH classes are capped and I can make sweet looking gear sets for them to level with.

Your question would be odd, but fortunately for you Bronies exist. Making "dress up time" seem, well, normal.

I never really cared for vanity or "town" clothes however I am miffed that my darklight legs are clashing with the rest of my fuma set.

I should also mention that I also have a pretty good chunk of gear set aside in my retainers for when they add vanity slots.lol

33 y/o male here and I'll look like optimus prime's slow nephew if it means I can save some money building my universal crafting gear set.

On the other hand, I think the blm allagan gear looks amazing! Idc what else they release, I vanity slot that mess.

Yeah I saw a BLM in full Allagan minus the hat the other day, I have to admit it looked pretty hot.

It must be relative. I don't think DL Cowl is the coolest thing to ever grace my computer monitor, but it sure does look better than Demagogue's robe and Demagogue's Mask. I wore the Sugar Loaf Hat dunce cap for a couple levels in the 30s and opted not to make my head gear invisible. I wanted to put up with the hideous look at the time because it would make me appreciate anything else I would wear later on that much more.

My friend does this. He has a set of pink gear for his WHM, yellow for his GLD, dark blue for his MRD, and when he leveled his crafting classes (all at once, to share gear) he would change colors with each new set of gear. Now he changes his gear when he spiritbinds it, and with the change comes a new color each time.

Is the BLM Allagan set the one that makes you look like the black mages from Black Mage Village in FFIX?

Also, there's a BRD set that I saw that I'm not sure i could deal with. It's stretch pants and a skintight shirt and half of the shirt is pink, other half blue. Then on the pants, the colors switch sides. I ran past a BRD outside of Rev Toll with it and almost got killed by a frog because I couldn't stop laughing.

That's bard artifact armor.

We all laugh too.

You're not the only one. Half of the reason I decide to level a class is due to the armor they can wear.

The caster Allagan set is very nice looking. I think you're thinking of BLM AF that resembles FF9.

The Allagan is on the left.

I stopped playing war just because of the DL look. I like dress up options more than anything else for some reason lol. (41 hetero M here)
