since fates arent as popular anymore (ive literally walked around the processing plant and seen red baron unclaimed, the mech and ahriman fates unclaimed and even GOgomeria unclaimed (and the times when someone DOES fight him its usually a wipe) point is since FATEs are pretty much dead how fast would you say hours wise) it takes to get from lvl 15 to 34?

I'll say it depends on how much calendar time you want that to stretch over. You can DF roulette and get roughly a level a day in 45 minutes to an hour, regardless of what level you're on. So playing once a day for an hour, 19 days, 19 hours. Some will be more than an hour, some will be much less. Add in some hunting logs when you hit 29 and you could bang out another level in an hour in one less calendar day.

I've been doing nothing but duty finder, each time gives me about a 1/2 level ( without the bonus) - just because I prefer the practice and the fun of instance running over non instanced content - AND it keeps me in pinks and greens.

Banana for scale: I'm simultaneously running WAR and SCH, they were both in the 20's last week and in the low 30's now with a couple hours put in each day. They are my 3rd and 4th runs to 50, over PLD and BLM already there.

If you have leves, its faster than fates, find an escort leve (chocobo icon) and run them with a /beckon macro. Takes about 1 minute per leve for the same exp a fate would give you. I can burn 30 leves in half and hour and gain a level.

Also dungoens and dfr are amazing.
#4DuoMaxwellxx, Posted: Jan 03 2014 at 7:36 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well Im manly referring to the time it would take in one dsy which means after youve finished your hunting log and dont daily roulette for that day, thus the only options you have left remaining that day are running dungeons, killing enemies to grind exp or fates (which no one seems to do) based on that could someone really go from lets say 15 to 34 in the same day and if so how many hours might it take?

I don't see any reduction in the popularity of FATE grinding on Midgardsormor. I went from 47-49 grinding FATEs in Northern Thanalan and there were always at least two full groups doing them. The only FATE that was ever a problem was "Go, go gorgimera" and that's only because that thing has entirely too much HP.

Why would you want to? Is there an actual reason you're looking to go 15-34 in one day after doing other options? It just seems like a very odd question...

That said, ANY leves will give you excellent XP/hour. I spammed leves around level 40 on mnk and gained a full level in under an hour, using maybe 6-7 leves. I'd say that might be the fastest way to level now tbh. Plus you make a little gil, and I find it to be a lot more fun than FATE grinding.

Well i spent all my allowances grinding 30-50 due to no one doing fates and dungeon runs not happening frequently/fast enough. So although by monday Ill have SOME allowances but it wont be the 99 I had at first and Im sure it wont be enough from 15-34... that being said Ill have ALL day monday and tuesday to play (as im off work those days)

that being said I have 4 classes to level on those two days one from 15 to 24 another from 15 to 26 another from 15 to 26 and one more from 15 to 34 (going for ll the cross class abilities) and Im just wondering how much of that Id be able to get done with 48 hours play time lol (Id be happy with one or two Im sure getting all 4 is unrealistic lol) sooooo any idea?

Is that 48 hours of non stop play or just a 48 hour window where you don't have to go to work? If it's 48 hours straight (need more redbull/coffee.... not to mention would probably collapse) you should get 3 of those accomplished if not all 4. If it's just the window of 48 hours, set a small goal (2) and work towards that (if you go passed it great, if not hitting your small goal will feel like you still accomplished something).

Fates may of slowed down on some server's on Ultos.... i see less people doing them.... however on Balmung there are 2-3+ full parties farming them. People are doing other content for xp purposes with the recent changes. You can setup your own fate/dungeon/leve/guildheist party to do the content you like doing best, or try your luck with DF (ugh.... enough said about DF), or go at it solo.

Two things that can figure into this are 1) do you already have a lvl 50 job and 2) how much 'rested exp' you have.

With both of those 50% bonuses in effect, even trash mobs in Sastasha have given me more than 700 exp/mob. And while it's probably tied to the level of the job you're using, if you do use the Roulette, the experience bonus you get if you successfully clear whatever you get dropped into is HUGE. For example, today I used the Roulette on my WHM45 and got sent to Ifrit (easy). The exp bonus I got after that was something like 140,000. However, you'll only get that bonus once a day.

Uh, I'd love to know what leves you're talking about. Level 40 leves, with wanted target and full time bonus, only net you around 18K each. Counting fully rested, using food, and potentially getting chains that's another 2-3K per leve so let's say an even 20K. This is a *best* case scenario where realistically a friend is helping kill while you tag to ensure you get the time bonus (as well as maxxing out the difficulty), but in reality you're looking at 15K with 18K~ on a wanted target that doesn't always pop.

You need 324K to hit 41. Even taking the best case scenario you're still looking at 4 sets of leves (16 at least) to level and *NOT* 6 or 7, and in reality you're really looking at closer to 20 leves per level. Even Mor Dhona leves at 45, maxxed out, wanted target, and getting the time bonus you're not breaking total EXP in a leve of 22/23K.

A full 104 leves (4 saved + 100 allowances) isn't going to get you more than 4 levels and that's being hopeful with wanted targets. I just burned through 104 trying to push BLM past 40 and was severely disappointed at how terrible they still are. I started a quarter into 40 and ran out halfway through 45.

No, battle leves are *still* horrendously slow and you aren't (and didn't) hit 41 off of 6 or 7 unless you were already close to leveling.

That many leve allowances in crafting or gathering would have netted at *least* 15 levels and potentially more if you only do the right ones (i.e. evaluation bonuses on gathering, and only turn in HQs on crafting).

Not to completely ignore bartelX's response, as it is full of "bad" information...

6-7 leves a level in less than an hour.

Well the time is about right, but thats if your only doing escorts, in which case you need 28 leves, not 6-7 SETS of 4, which implies your grabbing all 4 and not selectively doing escorts, which in turn again applies you wont be done in 30 minutes (see where im going?).

The best leves are escort and can be done in about 1 minute, and like viertel said, they net you around 18-22k/min, and still require a solid 30-40 minutes for one level and about 20-30 leves per level,
