Why is it so hard to get anyone to run Hydra?Follow

I feel like SE could have added Hydra to the Duty-Finder and awarded some sort of tomes for it.... maybe turn it into a like Prime battle.

Most people are already done with their relics, and there's no incentive for people to go back and help with this...

I feel like SE had an opportunity with 2.1 to add Chimera/Hydra... and should have.

They made it easier for people to progress through the game at nearly every other level through duty-roulette.

Chimera actually wasn't that bad, I saw two groups form the other day and got into one of them from shouts in Mor Dhona.

Why is Hydra so much worse for getting people into a group?

I made a Party-Finder group yesterday to try to get it going... and in 1 hour I had 1 person join, he made up some excuse about his FC needing him for WP... and said I could shoot him a tell if I got it going.

Pretty much all party content should be DFable, I think. The prevailing argument seems to be, "Make friends on your server, dummy!" but coordinating 3 others can be rough enough, let alone 7. DPS have it naturally more rough here, too.

Hihi Meat, we have weekly end game progression nights where we do the relic stuff for people that need it on Mondays. All you have to do is sign up on the FC site and leave a comment about what you need. Also, if that isn't a good time for you, send me a PM on the FC site (or send me a tell in game) and I will schedule an event for your at that time so that we can try to get you through it. (Also if I remember correctly, they are planning to include Hydra and Chimera in the DF with 2.2)

Yeah it's so weird that those 2 things aren't available in the DF.

I'm hearing from people that Hydra and Chimera give 10 Philosophy tomes now. Haven't been able to personally confirm though.

I think at some point they'll make both a DF thing, but for now with people still leveling additional jobs to 50 they think there will be a steady flow of folks doing the quests. Me personally, any other jobs I get to 50 won't be getting relics until I have everything I want done for my main though. I help when people have been shouting for a while if I'm doing something else in the zone, but as a DPS my services are rarely required.

I want to say yes to this. You do get Tomes, but I'm unsure of how much.

Yep, and almost positive it was 10. Just did chimera a couple times for people yesterday and got tomes for it. I agree it should be in the DF though.

But basically, what Arylin said. Sign up on the website and post what ya need and we'll get it done. Otherwise, if you see me online and want to go sometime, let me know, I'd be glad to tank it for you. I very much enjoy the Hydra fight. It's one of the few where a tank has to do more than just stand around and run the same rotation.

Just like everything if you don't need it people won't do it. I got two relics and never plan on doing hydra or chimra again. Going forward if I need another ilvl 90 weapon I'll get it from primals ex.

I'm with ya that it should be part of the DF.

It's also true that having a FC that has enough members to help with this stuff is extremely helpful. Hydra is a 10 minute fight and I'll go at the drop of a hat if someone I know needs it. Same with Chimera.

Also, those fights can be completed by most shout parties (just head there and wait for the next one to form).

With all that said, you may need to wait for the rush of players focusing in the new End-Game content to die down before the majority of players are going to be leveling Alt jobs again. That's who generally forms the shout parties, experienced players on their 2nd-3rd job.

Maybe your server just doesn't bother anymore. On behemoth I can open party finder just about any time and see at least one chimera or hydra party going.

I also often join those parties, I don't need it as I have my relic but I enjoy helping people out.
