[ffxiv-app] Overlays cause my framerate to drop to 30fpsFollow

#1 Dec 08 2013 at 10:50 PM Rating: Decent
Using the HP overlay or the new ffxiv-app overlays cause my framerate to drop from solid 60 fps to 30 fps.

Its like its limiting my framerate some how...

It's early and I'm just spitballing here, but there is an option in ffxiv to limit frames when it is not the top window. If you are using an overlay it's possible that you are then defaulting to the secondary value for "ffxiv is not on top".

Could also be WPF; I haven't had that issue myself but I do have the drop framerate option set to yes; so when I dev stuff it's not chewing through GPU while switching windows ^^

I just downloaded and ran this app and now my FPS is very low 10-30. The entire game is lagging now. Even when typing there is a delay.

Aside from deleting the folder is there any other way to make sure its entirely removed. My game is now unplayable and I am afraid reinstalling FFXIV(which would really suck) would do nothing.

Win 8.1
I7 2600k
680GTX
Vertex 3 SSD

Never EVER delete a folder to try and get rid of it or trying to uninstall it. Use your control panel and uninstall it from there.

This is not a program you install. It is not listed under the program category in the control panel. I am redownloading FFXIV right now. Hopefully everything turns out well.

Funny coincidence. Reseating my GPU fixed the problem.

I have a MBP and a 3year old i7960 with a (amd6870)

I only found this issue fixed if aero (win7) was on and GPU was running stock as well :( </3 WPF
