Free Company MissionsFollow

I'm at level 50 with full darklight gear trying to get my relic weapon. I need to beat Chimera and Hydra with a free company. Can someone please tell me how to join missions with my free company? AND Do you need all 8 members with 2x Tanks, 2x healers, 4x DPS or can you makeup any party? Thanks.

Chimera and Hydra are not part of the Duty Finder so are a little different. Just form an 8 man party and head to the area in Coerthas Chimmy spawns, so long as someone has the Relic quest up he'll be there. The fight is really easy, just have the tank pull him out of the cave and then spank and tank him. Hydra is a bit different, you need to have a party formed and then talk to the NPC near the entrance of Halitali to enter the instance. The Hydra fight is a little more complex, you might not clear it first time, but it's easy to learn - and pretty fun.

You can have any combination of jobs you want for both of these fights, you also need to complete one run of Amdapor Keep in between these fights as part of the relic quest requirement.

In general, the game only forces that structure when you queue up in DF (edit: to be more clear, when DF needs to form the entire party for you). I've done Sastasha with 2 tanks, 1 DPS and 1 healer when those were the classes that my friends and I happened to have at the time. I've also done Sastasha with no healer technically, since we had an Arcanist (which the game considers DPS) who wanted to be the main healer.

The game isn't going to block you from starting a dungeon or battle because you aren't strictly in the 2/2/4 or 1/1/2 setup. I've seen recommended setups for Titan that use 1 tank and 5 DPS, or 1 tank and 3 healers.

On a side note about hydra, it can either be really easy or super hard, it all depends on your tanks. Ive had 6.5k paladins suck at it because they cant dodge white breath, and had 4.2k warriors do fine because they could. Naturally, the 6.5k pld will blame healers for not keeping him alive with a -50% cure recieved debuff on.

The other big catch to hydra is killing adds, and dodging fear itself. But there are tons of you tube videos for that

The Chimera fight is located in the far northeast corner of Coerthas.

An easy was to fight chimera is have the tank run in, aggro, and kite him over to the snowy area outside fo the cave, and pull him all the way against the north wall with him facing towards the wall. This makes it significatly easier for the dps to dodge the persistent aoe. Just remember to have the OT completely focus on stunning "Ram's Voice" or everyone dies.

The main concept of Hydra is this: Tank Hydra at the edge of the circle. All players should also stick to the edge of the circle, and hydra will throw persistent aoe that you must avoid. As soon as he spawns a wyvern add, kill it immediately. Hydra will occasionally run to the center of the map and throw a big aoe that will hurt really bad. It hits every part of the room except right under Hydra's belly. So stack in the middle when hydra runs to the center. Keep killing adds when they spawn and sticking to the outside (so the persistent aoe doesnt hit the center of the map) and you should be fine.

Once I form a party does the entire party need to be standing next to Chimera to begin battle or just the leader to initiate battle and everyone will be pulled in from different locations?
