FFXIV Not tracking Dots at allFollow

#1 Nov 01 2013 at 3:24 PM Rating: Decent
Hello everybody,

i already hear about ffxiv app tracking dots (not perfectly but it does), but my version never tracks them. I always get the newest version of the app from the homepage, everything else works.

May it be a problem with the german client i'm useing?
I changed the option to german in the app

As a native english speaker I'm still working on getting german to be 100%; there's a number of things that are missing currently but working on it very hard. :)

Like Final Fantasy XI, the game specs will be extremely high for the time, but in about 5 years, an average machine can run it on max settings with little to no issues. Tanaka also expressed interest in making a benchmark program available.

This could also probably be due to the way the game handles DoTs -- they're all in a lump sum the last I recalled. I don't even know of a way inside the actual game filters to show your DoTs doing damage to be honest.

There isn't. The game doesn't write dot damage to the combat log at all.

I'm still not entirely sure how xivapp is calculating them tbh.

Thing is, you can even critical DoTs (you can tell when you try to overwrite them later before it expires and it fails, which i believe is called "clipping"). So even the base damage might not be the actual damage even if you could figure that part out reliably.

One thing that annoys me, thanks to DF PUGs, is that there are some people out there who honestly believe summoners cause less damage than the healer because their parser doesn't count their DoTs. Hopefully SE will make this loggable so we can put some of these misconceptions to rest.

It's always a hoot when someone tells me my parse but forgets about my pet. Always more than doubles my parse.

Just wait :) I'm working on the logic now; but I have every status effect on monster/player in real-time within 200 malms... It's going to be a bit of guess work when it comes to getting base damage and such however being able to track 20 casts of bio around you is going to pwn the crap outta stuff ;) I'm working on using you're own player stats which means linked parsing will almost be required for party play if you want to see each other's accurate parse results. Using stats spells with zero base (which is like 2 - 3) are more accurate but getting the crits is impossible.

However I could know that player X has X status and because of Y this will increase B by Z...
