#1 Jun 25 2013 at 8:25 AM Rating: Decent
First of all, I am loving the game. Anyone on Diablos server and want to do dungeons this weekend?

But to my original point. So with early access will I be receiving an early week, and also my phase 4 (Im in the beta obviously) character will NOT be wiped right? Ill be starting at level 30 something launch day?

Phase 4 is open beta and will not be reset as long as no gamebreaking bug is found. Soo if you have p4 _ early that gives u about 2 weeks to lvl befor launch . which lvl you get in that time is up to you but its capped at 35 during these phases i believe.

Characters will be wiped between phase 3 and phase 4. If you have a ver. 1.0 character you will start phase 4 with the lvl you had when 1.0 ended. If you do not have a ver 1.0 character you will start phase 4 at lvl 1.

The plan is to not wipe characters after phase 4 unless they need to. Phase 4 will end and a few days or longer will pass before the early access starts. All progress made in phase 4 will carry over to the early access (unless they determine they need to wipe progress for some reason). All progress made in early access will carry over to offical launch.

Those with early access are suppose to receive an email before with instructions on how to get into the early access phase.

So instead of starting another thread I just had a question. Do Legacy Player get early access or is it strictly just pre-orders. Thanks in advance!

What does "Open Beta" mean exactly? Will anyone be able to download the beta software on their PS3? Or do you have to have a PS3 beta code? I have 2 copies of the Collector's Edition on pre-order with GameStop for PS3, will that enable me to play early or do I need some other pre-order codes to do so?

I'm anxious to play the PS3 version, but I only received the PC Beta Code... even though I applied for the PS3 only. (I don't really have a gaming PC to play on, only a laptop i use for web surfing. I don't even know if it will have enough specs to run the game.)

Sorry for all of the annoying questions, this will be my first Beta testing. Thanks for the help.

Yes everyone can download and play Phase 4 even ps3
No you dont need a code
Yes you pre ordered so you indeed get the pre order bonuses of the early access and items
You should try your PC you might be surprised on how it runs on low end computers I no someone who played it on a tablet.

im pretty sure tablets that can actually start a PC game arent low end, but yeah people might be surprised by what their computer can actually play.

Not sure that part is entirely accurate. See discussion here.

Wint should try to get SE to release Arcanist during phase 4... because I want to start my character as one, and if they don't, my early access wont matter D:

Every class, even jobs will ideally need 2 other classes leveled to a certain point to be ideal. So, even if you wanna start arcanist as your main, you could use P4 and early access to level the support classes for it.

Ok, now I'm totally confused. I was told that Beta phase 4 was supposed to be early access. But now that I've read this thread I understood that phase 4 and early access are two different things. So Beta phase 4 starts around end of july/begining of august and early access is just some days before official launch, is this correct?

I thought Phase 4 and Early Access were synonymous as well.

Early access is the week before the release of the game.

Beta phase 4 is still part of the beta test and is subject to change between the test and early access.

To be clear, Early Access is a preorder bonus wherein you get a code for early access to the actual launch of the game. This will presumably be after the end of Phase 4. It wouldn't make sense to offer early access as a preorder bonus when the game is already available to everyone via the open beta.

Once you preorder, you get an early access code that lets you into the launch version of the game a week (?) earlier than people who didn't preorder.

See, I thought beta sign up was going to be cut off soon, and since Phase 4 would not result in a character wipe, those people who pre-ordered would simply join the beta testers in Phase 4. I thought it was going to overlap.

So I was checking the Beta Roadmap http://http://gdl.square-enix.com/ffxiv/download/en/FFXIV_2.0_BETA_Roadmap_EN.pdf and I see that those willing to play during phase 4 in a PS3 must purchase a copy of FFXIV:ARR. So PS3 users will have to buy a copy of the game in order to play Phase 4 or this is only to avoid your character being deleated once the phase 4 ends? Does this means that PS3 players will have early access after buying a copy of the game during phase 4?

This is mentioned in relation to data carrying over to release. It's more a notice that to be able to play on the playstation that you need to purchase the playstation version and not the PC version.

Thanks for the clearing that up, I had been unsure about that this whole time.

1) I have a copy of the original FFXIV that I never played (PC Version). Do I need to order another or will this one work?
2) I have P3 access. Do I need to submit another request to join P4 or will I just log in like normal but with no characters?

1. Not as long as you still have the code. You should be able to register it to your SE account when they bring that back up.
2. No, you're in for LYFEHOMIE!

Ok I just need a bit of clarification to be honest.
So I pre-order final fantasy a realm reborn for ps3, will I
A: Just download early access content from my ps3
B: Need a PSN subscription to play the game
C: Still be required to sign up for a P4 from the official site?
It just doesn't make sense to me about the early access, because on a comp I could understand full digital download and wam~ you are off to the races, but as far as I can tell (which is limited information at best) there is no answer to how PS3 players are going to get early access without some sort of digital download. I do believe the beta for PS3 was a digital download yea? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. ^^;
