I've seen recently on google when I type and enter the keywords, FF XIV, that A Realm Reborn is being sold like one said at Target for $29.99. Here's the link but it doesn't seem correct to me, http://www.target.com/p/final-fantasy-xiv-a-realm-reborn-pc-games/-/A-14335486?ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001&AFID=Google_PLA_df&LNM=%7C14335486&CPNG=Video+Games&kpid=14335486&ci_gpa=pla&ci_sku=14335486, and it says on there that the release date for pre-order is Tuesday, December 31, 2013 and that the game is in stores lol. What do y'all think of this?

Yeah... not in stores yet lol... But that is legit as far as pre ordering it goes. December 31st generally means Q4 release I think...? This is obviously false as well since we know that XIV:ARR will be Q1 release... But I thought Q1 release was usually denoted with a January 1st date. So yeah these dates are not "official" and just give a time estimate (which quarter) of when the game will be released.
They just use Dec 31, xxxx year as a placeholder, since they don't know a date, but know it will be released in 2013. It is not an indication of what quarter it will be released in.

I could see us having it on the PC and then within a month or two on the PS3. My bet is Feb-March for PC then May on the PS3. Kinda like how they wanted to do it on the original 2010-2011 release.
Amazon has it for 39.99 and 29.99 also. Amazon also has lowest price thing, so if you pre-order now you can't get a price increase if it does go up. I myself am holding out for the Digital on PC and a CE for the PS3.

Well... December 31st is placeholder... but it is indicator of "end of 2012." ARR never had a release date but we were given a tentative end of the year, thus they put this placeholder. There is no reason for a placeholder, if they did not know at all they would simply put "no release date given" or whatever. But because they knew a rough estimate of end of this year they put Dec. 31st to indicate that.

Actually end of the year was never promised. According to their roadmap it wasn't due to go on sale until January 2013. Admittedly this roadmap is no longer accurate but they've said they would hopefully be updating it soon.

In the live letter they said they were delayed by about 2 months and 2 weeks, putting ARR launch around mid-to-late March. My money is on an April release. Because they said Beta would start late-Jan to Early Feb.
But they will be releasing an updated road map the end of this month or the beginning of December.
Just keep your fingers crossed that Alpha hits minor snags and Beta goes well. That'll ensure an on-time release for April/May!

They have quoted that they will be begin beta test last january early february. If beta goes perfectly in every aspect throughout the entire process, I'd say it'll be a late march release, but that would be in a perfect world. So with that in mind, I'm guessing a release of mid april or later.
